El Llibre del Levític 19:1-2, 17-18
| 19:1 | El Senyor va parlar a Moisès, dient: |
| 19:2 | Parla a tota l'assemblea dels fills d'Israel, i els hi diràs: Sigues sant, per jo, el Senyor, el teu Déu, sóc sant. |
| 19:16 | No seràs un detractor, ni xiuxiuejador, entre la gent. No t'oposaràs a la sang del teu proïsme. Jo sóc el Senyor. |
| 19:17 | No odiares el teu germà en el teu cor, però reprova-lo obertament, perquè no tinguis pecat sobre ell. |
| 19:18 | No busquis venjança, tampoc no hauríeu de tenir en compte la lesió dels vostres conciutadans. Estimaràs el teu amic com a tu mateix. Jo sóc el Senyor. |
Segona Lectura
Primera Carta de St. Pau als Corintis 3: 16-23
3:16 Do you not know that you are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God lives within you?
3:17 But if anyone violates the Temple of God, God will destroy him. For the Temple of God is holy, and you are that Temple.
3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may be truly wise.
3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. And so it has been written: “I will catch the wise in their own astuteness.”
3:20 I un altre cop: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.”
3:21 I així, let no one glory in men.
3:22 For all is yours: whether Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future. Sí, all is yours.
3:23 But you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

Mateu 5: 38-48
5:38 Has sentit que s'ha dit: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
5:39 Però et dic, do not resist one who is evil, but if anyone will have struck you on your right cheek, offer to him the other also.
5:40 And anyone who wishes to contend with you in judgment, and to take away your tunic, release to him your cloak also.
5:41 And whoever will have compelled you for one thousand steps, go with him even for two thousand steps.
5:42 Whoever asks of you, give to him. And if anyone would borrow from you, do not turn away from him.
5:43 Has sentit que s'ha dit, 'Estimaràs el teu proïsme, i tindreu odi pel vostre enemic.
5:44 Però et dic: Estima els teus enemics. Fes el bé als qui t'odien. I pregueu pels qui us persegueixen i us calumnien.
5:45 Per aquest camí, sereu fills del vostre Pare, qui està al cel. Fa que el seu sol surti sobre els bons i els dolents, i fa que plogui sobre els justos i els injustos.
5:46 Perquè si estimes els qui t'estimen, quina recompensa tindràs? Ni tan sols els recaptadors d'impostos es comporten d'aquesta manera?
5:47 I si saludeu només els vostres germans, què més has fet? Ni tan sols els pagans es comporten d'aquesta manera?
5:48 Per tant, ser perfecte, així com el vostre Pare celestial és perfecte”.
