Kitab Para Raja Kapisan 8: 22-23, 27-30

8:22Sang Prabu Suleman banjur jumeneng ana ing ngarepe misbyah Pangeran Yehuwah, ing ngarsaning pasamuwan Israel, lan Panjenengané njunjung astane marang langit.
8:23Lan ngandika: “Dhuh Yehuwah, Gusti Allahipun Israel, ora ana Gusti Allah sing kaya kowé, ing swarga ndhuwur, utawa ing bumi ngisor. Paduka njagi prajanjian lan sih-kadarman kaliyan para abdi Paduka, kang lumaku ana ing ngarepmu kalawan gumolonging ati.
8:26Lan saiki, Dhuh Pangéran, Allahipun Israèl, netepake tembung sampeyan, ingkang Paduka dhawuhaken dhateng abdi Paduka Dawud, bapakku.
8:27Apa iku, banjur, supaya bisa dimangerteni manawa Gusti Allah bakal manggon ing bumi? Kanggo yen swarga, lan swarganing langit, ora bisa ngemot sampeyan, apa maneh omah iki, kang dakbangun?
8:28Nanging mugi karsaa mirsani pandonga kawula saha panyuwunipun, Dhuh Gusti, Gusti. Rungokna kidung lan pandonga, ingkang abdi Paduka ndedonga ing ngarsa Paduka ing dinten punika,
8:29supaya mripatmu bisa mbukak ing omah iki, rina lan wengi, liwat omah sing sampeyan ucapake, 'Jenengku bakal ana ing kana,’ supados Paduka mirengaken pandonganipun abdi Paduka wonten ing papan punika dhateng Paduka.
8:30Mulane mugi Paduka midhangetaken panyuwunipun abdi Paduka lan umat Paduka Israel, apa wae sing bakal didongakake ing panggonan iki, Mulané muga-muga padha digatèkaké ana ing swarga, ing padalemanira. Lan nalika sampeyan ngrungokake, sampeyan bakal grapyak.

Injil

Tandhani 7: 1-13

7:1And the Pharisees and some of the scribes, arriving from Jerusalem, gathered together before him.
7:2And when they had seen certain ones from his disciples eating bread with common hands, iku, with unwashed hands, they disparaged them.
7:3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat without repeatedly washing their hands, holding to the tradition of the elders.
7:4And when returning from the market, unless they wash, they do not eat. And there are many other things which have been handed down to them to observe: the washings of cups, and pitchers, and bronze containers, and beds.
7:5And so the Pharisees and the scribes questioned him: “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but they eat bread with common hands?”
7:6Nanging kanggo nanggepi, ngandika marang wong-wong mau: “So well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, kaya sing wis ditulis: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7:7And in vain do they worship me, teaching the doctrines and precepts of men.’
7:8For abandoning the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men, to the washing of pitchers and cups. And you do many other things similar to these.”
7:9Lan ngandika marang wong-wong mau: “You effectively nullify the precept of God, so that you may observe your own tradition.
7:10For Moses said: ‘Honor your father and your mother,'lan, ‘Whoever will have cursed father or mother, let him die a death.’
7:11But you say, ‘If a man will have said to his father or mother: Korban, (which is a gift) whatever is from me will be to your benefit,'
7:12then you do not release him to do anything for his father or mother,
7:13rescinding the word of God through your tradition, which you have handed down. And you do many other similar things in this way.”
