Sirach 15: 15-20
15:15 He added his commandments and precepts.
15:16 If you choose to keep the commandments, and if, having chosen them, you fulfill them with perpetual fidelity, they will preserve you.
15:17 He has set water and fire before you. Extend your hand to whichever one you would choose.
15:18 Before man is life and death, good and evil. Whichever one he chooses will be given to him.
15:19 For the wisdom of God is manifold. And he is strong in power, seeing all things without ceasing.
15:20 The eyes of the Lord are upon those who fear him, and he knows each one of the works of man.

Epistola prima ad Corinthios 2: 6-10
2:6 Nunc, sapientiam loquimur inter perfectos, sed vere, non est ista sapientia huius saeculi, neque principum huius saeculi, quae in nihilum redigentur.

5:17 nolite putare quoniam veni solvere legem aut prophetas. Non veni solvere, sed ut impleatur.
5:18 Amen dico vobis, certe, donec caelum et terra transibunt, non iota, ne punctum unum a lege transeat, donec omnia fiant.
5:19 Ergo, qui solvet uni de mandatis istis minimis, et docuerunt homines, minimus vocabitur in regno caelorum. Sed quicumque haec fecerit et docuerit, hic magnus vocabitur in regno caelorum.
5:20 dico enim vobis, quia nisi abundaverit iustitia vestra plusquam scribarum et phariseorum non intrabitis in regnum caelorum.
5:21 Audistis quia dictum est senioribus: 'Non occides'; quicumque occiderit, iudicio tenebitur.'
5:22 Sed dico vobis, Omnis, qui irascitur fratri suo, reus erit iudicio. qui autem dixerit fratrem suum, 'Stultus,' in concilio tenebitur.'. deinde, quicumque vocaverit eum, 'Nequam',' tenebuntur ignibus inferni.

5:27 Audistis quia dictum est senioribus: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
