Ch 16 Matthew

Matthew 16

16:1 And Pharisees and Sadducees approached him to test him, and they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
16:2 But he responded by saying to them: “When evening arrives, you say, ‘It will be calm, for the sky is red,"
16:3 and in the morning, ‘Today there will be a storm, for the sky is red and gloomy.’ So then, you know how to judge the appearance of the sky, but you are unable to know the signs of the times?
16:4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign. And a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And leaving them behind, he went away.
16:5 And when his disciples went across the sea, they forgot to bring bread.
16:6 A sot hien zu hinnen, “Consider and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
16:7 But they were thinking within themselves, gesot, “It is because we have not brought bread.”
16:8 da Jesus, knowing this, gesot: “Why do you consider within yourselves, O little in faith, that it is because you have no bread?
16:9 Do you not yet understand, nor remember, the five loaves among the five thousand men, and how many containers you took up?
16:10 Or the seven loaves among the four thousand men, and how many baskets you took up?
16:11 Why do you not understand that it was not because of bread that I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees?"
16:12 Then they understood that he was not saying that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
16:13 Dunn ass de Jesus an Deeler vun Cäsarea Philippi. An hie gefrot seng Jünger, gesot, "Wien do Männer soen, datt de Mënschejong ass?"
16:14 An si soten, "Verschiddener soen John der Baptist, an anerer soen Elias, nach soen anerer Jeremiah oder ee vun de Prophéiten. "
16:15 Jesus sot zu hinnen, "Ma deen do soen, dass ech?"
16:16 Simon Peter Etzella vun gesot, "Du bass de Christus, de Jong vum liewege Gott. "
16:17 An Äntwert, Jesus sot zu him: "Glécklech sidd Dir, Simon Jong vum Jonah. Fir Fleesch a Blutt huet dëst ze Dir net verroden, mee mengem Papp, deen ass am Himmel.
16:18 An ech soen Iech, datt Dir Peter, an op dëser Rock wäert ech meng Kierch bauen, an den Diere vun Hell soll net géint se Wieder.
16:19 An ech wäert Iech d'Schlëssele vum Himmelräich ginn. An egal Dir soll op der Äerd festleeën soll gebonnen ginn, och am Himmel. An egal wéi Dir op der Äerd Fräisetzung soll soll lancéiert ginn, och am Himmel. "
16:20 Dann gesot hien seng Jünger datt si keen soen soll, datt hien ass de Jesus de Christus.
16:21 Aus där Zäit, Jesus huet zu senge Jünger zu opzeweisen, datt et noutwendeg war, fir him zu Jerusalem ze goen, a bëssen vill aus déi Eelst an d'Schrëftgeléiert an d'Cheffen vun de Paschtéier, an gin ëmbruecht, an ze klammen erem op den drëtten Dag.
16:22 an Peter, huelen him reservéiert, huet him bis November, gesot, "Här, kann et wäit vun Dir; dëst soll net fir Iech geschéien. "
16:23 An doriwwer ewech, Jesus sot zu Peter: "Hannert mech eens, Satan; Dir sidd en Hindernis fir mech. Fir Iech net behuelen sinn no wat vu Gott ass, mä no wat vu Männer ass. "
16:24 Du sot de Jesus zu senge Jénger: “If anyone is willing to come after me, Looss hie selwer verleegnen, an Geleeenheet sengem Kräiz, an dann mech.
16:25 For whoever would save his life, wäert verléieren se. But whoever will have lost his life for my sake, shall find it.
16:26 For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, yet truly suffers damage to his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
16:27 For the Son of man will arrive in the glory of his Father, with his Angels. And then he will repay each one according to his works.
16:28 Amen, ech soen iech, there are some among those standing here, who shall not taste death, until they see the Son of man arriving in his reign.”
