Čitanje

The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah 31: 31-34

31:31	Gle, dani se približavaju, kaže Gospod, when I will form a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
31:32	not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand, so as to lead them away from the land of Egypt, the covenant which they nullified, though I was the ruler over them, kaže Gospod.
31:33	But this will be the covenant that I will form with the house of Israel, nakon tih dana, kaže Gospod: I will give my law to their inner most being, and I will write it upon their heart. I ja ću biti njihov Bog, and they shall be my people.
31:34	And they will no longer teach, a man his neighbor, and a man his brother, govoreći: ‘Know the Lord.’ For all will know me, from the littlest of them even to the greatest, kaže Gospod. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will no longer remember their sin.

Sveto jevanđelje po Mateju 16: 13-23

16:13	Zatim je Isus otišao u dijelove Cezareje Filipove. I ispitivao je svoje učenike, govoreći, “Za koga ljudi kažu da je Sin Čovječiji??”
16:14	I rekli su, “Neki kažu Jovana Krstitelja, a drugi kažu Ilija, drugi kažu Jeremija ili jedan od proroka.”
16:15	Isus im je rekao, „Ali za koga vi kažete da sam ja?”
16:16	Simon Peter je odgovorio rekavši, „Ti si Hrist, Sin Boga živoga.”
16:17	I kao odgovor, Isus mu je rekao: „Blago tebi, Simon sin Jonin. Jer krv i meso vam ovo nije otkrilo, ali moj otac, koji je na nebu.
16:18	I ja vam kažem, da si ti Petar, i na ovoj stijeni sagradit ću svoju Crkvu, i vrata pakla ga neće nadvladati.
16:19	I daću ti ključeve kraljevstva nebeskog. I šta god vežete na zemlji, biće svezano, čak i na nebu. I šta god pustite na zemlji, biće oslobođeno, čak i na nebu.”
16:20	Then he instructed his disciples that they should tell no one that he is Jesus the Christ.
16:21	From that time, Jesus began to reveal to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the elders and the scribes and the leaders of the priests, and to be killed, and to rise again on the third day.
16:22	I Peter, odvodeći ga u stranu, began to rebuke him, govoreći, “Gospode, may it be far from you; this shall not happen to you.”
16:23	And turning away, Jesus said to Peter: „Stani iza mene, Satana; you are an obstacle to me. For you are not behaving according to what is of God, but according to what is of men.”
