Čitanje

The First Book of Kings 18: 41-46

18:41	And Elijah said to Ahab “Ascend; eat and drink. For there is the sound of an abundance of rain.”
18:42	Ahab ascended, so that he might eat and drink. But Elijah ascended to the top of Carmel, and bending down to the ground, he placed his face between his knees.
18:43	And he said to his servant, “Ascend, and gaze out toward the sea.” And when he had ascended, and had contemplated, on je rekao, “There is nothing.” And again, rekao mu je, “Return seven times.”
18:44	And at the seventh time, gle, a little cloud ascended from the sea like the footstep of a man. I rekao je: “Ascend, and say to Ahab, ‘Yoke your chariot, and descend; otherwise, the rain may prevent you.’ ”
18:45	And as he was turning himself this way and that, gle, the heavens were darkened, and there were clouds and wind, and a great rainstorm occurred. And so Ahab, going up, went away to Jezreel.
18:46	And the hand of the Lord was upon Elijah. And cinching his waist, he ran before Ahab, until he arrived at Jezreel.

Sveto jevanđelje po Mateju 5: 20-26

5:20	Jer ja vam kažem, da ako vaša pravda ne nadmaši pravdu književnika i farizeja, nećete ući u kraljevstvo nebesko.
5:21	Čuli ste da je to rečeno starima: „Nećeš ubijati; ko hoće da ubije bit će podložan presudi.'
5:22	Ali ja vam kažem, da će svako ko se naljuti na svog brata biti osuđen. Ali ko god bi pozvao svog brata, 'Idiote,“ biće odgovorni vijeću. Onda, ko god bi ga pozvao, ‘Bezvrijedno,’ biće odgovorni za paklenu vatru.
5:23	Stoga, ako prinesete svoj dar na oltar, i tu se setiš da tvoj brat ima nešto protiv tebe,
5:24	ostavite svoj poklon tamo, pred oltarom, i idi prvi da se pomiriš sa svojim bratom, a onda možete prići i ponuditi svoj dar.
5:25	Brzo se pomirite sa svojim protivnikom, dok ste još na putu s njim, da vas možda protivnik ne preda sudiji, a sudija vas može predati službeniku, i bićeš bačen u zatvor.
5:26	Amen vam kažem, da nećeš otići odande, dok ne otplatite zadnji kvartal.
