Isaiah 49: 1-6

49:1	Pay attention, you islands, and listen closely, you far away peoples. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the womb of my mother, he has been mindful of my name.
49:2	And he has appointed my mouth as a sharp sword. In the shadow of his hand, he has protected me. And he has appointed me as an elect arrow. In his quiver, he has hidden me.
49:3	And he has said to me: “You are my servant, Izrael. For in you, I will glory.”
49:4	I rekao sam: “I have labored toward emptiness. I have consumed my strength without purpose and in vain. Stoga, my judgment is with the Lord, and my work is with my God.”
49:5	I sada, kaže Gospod, who formed me from the womb as his servant, so that I may bring back Jacob to him, for Israel will not be gathered together, but I have been glorified in the eyes of the Lord and my God has become my strength,
49:6	and so he has said: “It is a small thing that you should be my servant so as to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and so as to convert the dregs of Israel. Gle, I have offered you as a light for the Gentiles, so that you may be my salvation, even to the furthest regions of the earth.”

The Acts of Apostles 13: 22-26

13:22	I uklonivši ga, podigao im je kralja Davida. I nudi svedočanstvo o njemu, on je rekao, „Pronašao sam Davida, sin Jessejev, da budem čovek po svom srcu, koji će postići sve što ja hoću.’
13:23	Od njegovog potomstva, prema Obećanju, Bog je doveo Isusa Spasitelja u Izrael.
13:24	John je propovijedao, pred lice njegovog dolaska, krštenje pokajanja za sav narod Izraela.

Sveto jevanđelje po Luki 1: 57-66, 80

1:57Sada je došlo vrijeme da se Elizabeth porodi, i ona je rodila sina.

1:58I njene komšije i rođaci čuli su da je Gospod uveličao svoju milost s njom, i tako su joj čestitali.

1:59I to se desilo, osmog dana, stigli su da obrežu dječaka, i nazvali su ga imenom njegovog oca, Zaharija.

1:60I kao odgovor, rekla je njegova majka: “Nije tako. Umjesto toga, on će se zvati Jovan.”

1:61I rekli su joj, “Ali među tvojom rodbinom nema nikoga ko se zove tim imenom.”

1:62Zatim su dali znake njegovom ocu, kako je želio da se zove.

1:63I tražim tablet za pisanje, napisao je, govoreći: “Njegovo ime je Džon.” I svi su se pitali.

1:64Onda, odjednom, usta su mu bila otvorena, i jezik mu se razvezao, i on je progovorio, blagoslovi Boga.

1:65I strah je obuzeo sve njihove komšije. I sve ove riječi bile su objavljene po cijeloj brdskoj zemlji Judeji.
