वाचन

प्रेषित यशयाचे पुस्तक 3: 1-4, 4: 5- 6

3:1	बघा, मी माझा देवदूत पाठवतो, आणि तो माझ्यासमोर मार्ग तयार करील. आणि सध्या सार्वभौम, ज्याला तुम्ही शोधता, आणि साक्ष देवदूत, ज्याची तुमची इच्छा आहे, त्याच्या मंदिरात पोहोचेल. बघा, तो जवळ येतो, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
3:2	आणि कोण त्याच्या आगमनाच्या दिवसाचा विचार करण्यास सक्षम असेल, आणि त्याला पाहण्यासाठी कोण खंबीरपणे उभे राहील? कारण तो शुद्ध करणाऱ्या अग्नीसारखा आहे, आणि फुलरच्या औषधी वनस्पतीसारखे.
3:3	आणि तो चांदी शुद्ध आणि शुद्ध करत बसेल, आणि तो लेवीच्या मुलांना शुद्ध करील, आणि तो त्यांना सोन्या-चांदीप्रमाणे गोळा करील, आणि ते न्यायाने परमेश्वराला अर्पण करतील.

4:5	बघा, I will send to you Elijah the prophet, before the arrival of the great and terrible day of the Lord.
4:6	And he will turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with anathema.

लूकच्या मते पवित्र गॉस्पेल 1: 57-66

1:57	Now the time for Elizabeth to give birth arrived, and she brought forth a son.
1:58	And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy with her, and so they congratulated her.
1:59	आणि तसं झालं, on the eighth day, they arrived to circumcise the boy, and they called him by his father’s name, जखऱ्या.
1:60	आणि प्रतिसादात, his mother said: “Not so. त्याऐवजी, he shall be called John.”
1:61	And they said to her, “But there is no one among your relatives who is called by that name.”
1:62	Then they made signs to his father, as to what he wanted him to be called.
1:63	And requesting a writing tablet, त्याने लिहिले, म्हणत: “His name is John.” And they all wondered.
1:64	मग, at once, his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosened, and he spoke, blessing God.
1:65	And fear fell upon all of their neighbors. And all these words were made known throughout all the hill country of Judea.
1:66	And all those who heard it stored it up in their heart, म्हणत: “What do you think this boy will be?” And indeed, the hand of the Lord was with him.
