First Reading

 

The Acts of the Apostles 10: 25-26, 34-35, 44-48

10:25 Och det hände det, när Peter hade kommit in, Cornelius gick honom till mötes. Och faller framför hans fötter, han vördade.

10:26 Ändå verkligen, Peter, lyfter upp honom, sa: "Stig upp, ty jag är också bara en man."

10:34 Sedan, Peter, öppnar munnen, sa: "Jag har i sanning dragit slutsatsen att Gud inte respekterar personer.

10:35 Men inom varje nation, Den som fruktar honom och gör rättvisa är honom behaglig.

10:44 Medan Petrus fortfarande talade dessa ord, den helige Ande föll över alla dem som lyssnade på Ordet.

10:45 Och omskärelsens trogna, som hade kommit med Peter, var förvånade över att den helige Andes nåd också utgöts över hedningarna.

10:46 Ty de hörde dem tala i tungomål och prisa Gud.

10:47 Då svarade Peter, "Hur kunde någon förbjuda vatten, så att de som har fått den helige Ande inte skulle bli döpta, precis som vi också har varit?”

10:48 Och han befallde dem att bli döpta i Herren Jesu Kristi namn. Sedan bad de honom att stanna hos dem några dagar.

 

Second Reading

The First Letter of Saint John 4: 7-10

4:7 Most beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God. And everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

4:8 Whoever does not love, does not know God. For God is love.

4:9 The love of God was made apparent to us in this way: that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

4:10 In this is love: not as if we had loved God, but that he first loved us, and so he sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins.

 

Gospel

The Holy Gospel According to John 15: 9-17

15:9 As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Abide in my love.

15:10 If you keep my precepts, you shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept my Father’s precepts and I abide in his love.

15:11 These things I have spoken to you, so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be fulfilled.

15:12 This is my precept: that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

15:13 No one has a greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.

15:14 You are my friends, if you do what I instruct you.

15:15 I will no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Lord is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything whatsoever that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you.

15:17 This I command you: that you love one another.
