Reading

The Acts of the Apostles 1: 1-11

1:1	Säkert, O Theophilus, Jag skrev den första talen om allt som Jesus började göra och undervisa om,
1:2	instruerar apostlarna, som han hade utvalt genom den helige Ande, till och med den dag då han togs upp.
1:3	Han presenterade sig också levande för dem, efter hans passion, uppenbarade sig för dem under fyrtio dagar och talade om Guds rike med många förklaringar.
1:4	Och äta middag med dem, han befallde dem att de inte skulle lämna Jerusalem, men att de skulle vänta på Faderns löfte, "som du har hört om," han sa, "från min egen mun.
1:5	För John, verkligen, döpt med vatten, men du skall bli döpt med den helige Ande, inte många dagar från nu."
1:6	Därför, de som hade samlats frågade honom, ordspråk, "Herre, är detta den tid då du ska återupprätta Israels kungarike?”
1:7	Men han sade till dem: "Det är inte ditt att veta tiderna eller stunderna, som Fadern har satt av sin egen myndighet.
1:8	Men du ska få den Helige Andes kraft, går över dig, och ni skall vara mig vittnen i Jerusalem, och i hela Judéen och Samaria, och ända till jordens ändar.”
1:9	Och när han hade sagt dessa saker, medan de tittade, han lyftes upp, och ett moln tog honom från deras åsyn.
1:10	Och medan de såg honom gå upp till himlen, skåda, två män stod nära dem i vita dräkter.
1:11	Och de sa: "Galileiska män, varför står du här och tittar upp mot himlen? Den här Jesus, som har tagits upp från dig till himlen, skall återvända på samma sätt som du har sett honom gå upp till himlen."

Second Reading

The Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians 1: 17-23

1:17	so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give a spirit of wisdom and of revelation to you, in knowledge of him.
1:18	May the eyes of your heart be illuminated, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and the wealth of the glory of his inheritance with the saints,
1:19	and the preeminent magnitude of his virtue toward us, toward we who believe in accord with the work of his powerful virtue,
1:20	which he wrought in Christ, raising him from the dead and establishing him at his right hand in the heavens,
1:21	above every principality and power and virtue and dominion, and above every name that is given, not only in this age, but even in the future age.
1:22	And he has subjected all things under his feet, and he has made him the head over the entire Church,
1:23	which is his body and which is the fullness of him who accomplishes everything in everyone.

The Holy Gospel According to to Matthew 28:16-20

28:16	Now the eleven disciples went on to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
28:17	Och, seeing him, they worshipped him, but certain ones doubted.
28:18	Och Jesus, närmar sig, spoke to them, ordspråk: “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
28:19	Därför, go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
28:20	teaching them to observe all that I have ever commanded you. Och se, I am with you always, even to the consummation of the age.”
