First Reading

The Acts of the Apostles 2: 1-11

2:1 Och när pingstdagen var fullbordad, de var alla tillsammans på samma plats.

2:2 Och plötsligt, det kom ett ljud från himlen, som en vind som närmar sig våldsamt, och det fyllde hela huset där de satt.

2:3 Och det visade sig för dem skilda tungor, som av eld, som slog sig på var och en av dem.

2:4 Och de blev alla fyllda av den helige Ande. Och de började tala på olika språk, precis som den helige Ande skänkte vältalighet åt dem.

2:5 Nu bodde det judar i Jerusalem, fromma män från varje nation som är under himlen.

2:6 Och när detta ljud uppstod, folkmassan samlades och var förvirrad i sinnet, för var och en lyssnade på dem som talade på sitt eget språk.

2:7 Då blev alla förvånade, och de undrade, ordspråk: "Skåda, är inte alla dessa som talar galileer?

2:8 Och hur kommer det sig att vi alla har hört dem på vårt eget språk, som vi föddes i?

2:9 Parthians och meder och elamiter, och de som bor i Mesopotamien, Judéen och Kappadokien, Pontus och Asien,

2:10 Frygia och Pamfylia, Egypten och de delar av Libyen som ligger runt Cyrene, och nyanlända av romarna,

2:11 likaså judar och nyomvända, kretensare och araber: vi har hört dem tala om Guds mäktiga gärningar på våra egna språk."

Second Reading

The First Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 12: 3-7, 12-13

12:3 På grund av detta, I would have you know that no one speaking in the Spirit of God utters a curse against Jesus. And no one is able to say that Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.

12:4 Verkligt, there are diverse graces, but the same Spirit.

12:5 And there are diverse ministries, but the same Lord.

12:6 And there are diverse works, but the same God, who works everything in everyone.

12:7 dock, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one toward what is beneficial.

12:12 For just as the body is one, and yet has many parts, so all the parts of the body, även om de är många, are only one body. So also is Christ.

12:13 Och verkligen, in one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether servant or free. And we all drank in the one Spirit.

The Holy Gospel According John 20: 19-23

20:19 Sedan, when it was late on the same day, on the first of the Sabbaths, and the doors were closed where the disciples were gathered, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, och han sade till dem: “Peace to you.”

20:20 Och när han hade sagt detta, he showed them his hands and side. And the disciples were gladdened when they saw the Lord.

20:21 Därför, he said to them again: “Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

20:22 When he had said this, he breathed on them. Och han sade till dem: “Receive the Holy Spirit.

20:23 Those whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them, and those whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.”
