Reading

The Book of Revelation 11: 4-12

11:4	Dessa är de två olivträden och de två ljusstakarna, står inför jordens herre.
11:5	Och om någon vill skada dem, eld skall gå ut ur deras mun, och det skall förtära deras fiender. Och om någon vill såra dem, så måste han dödas.
11:6	Dessa har makten att stänga himlen, så att det inte regnar under de dagar de profeterar. Och de har makt över vattnet, att omvandla dem till blod, och att slå jorden med alla slags lidanden så ofta de vill.
11:7	Och när de kommer att ha avslutat sitt vittnesbörd, vilddjuret som steg upp från avgrunden kommer att föra krig mot dem, och kommer att övervinna dem, och kommer att döda dem.
11:8	Och deras kroppar ska ligga på gatorna i den stora staden, som bildligt talat kallas 'Sodom' och 'Egypten,’ platsen där deras Herre också korsfästes.
11:9	Och de från stammarna och folken och språken och nationerna skall bevaka sina kroppar i tre och en halv dag. Och de skall inte låta deras kroppar läggas i gravar.
11:10	Och jordens invånare ska jubla över dem, och de kommer att fira, och de kommer att skicka gåvor till varandra, därför att dessa två profeter torterade dem som bodde på jorden.
11:11	Och efter tre och en halv dag, livets ande från Gud kom in i dem. Och de stod upprätt på sina fötter. Och en stor rädsla föll över dem som såg dem.
11:12	Och de hörde en stor röst från himlen, säger till dem, "Stig upp hit!” Och de steg upp till himlen på ett moln. Och deras fiender såg dem.

The Gospel According to Luke 20: 27-40

20:27	Now some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, approached him. Och de frågade honom,
20:28	ordspråk: “Teacher, Moses wrote for us: If any man’s brother will have died, having a wife, and if he does not have any children, then his brother should take her as his wife, and he should raise up offspring for his brother.
20:29	And so there were seven brothers. And the first took a wife, and he died without sons.
20:30	And the next one married her, and he also died without a son.
20:31	And the third married her, and similarly all seven, and none of them left behind any offspring, and they each died.
20:32	Last of all, the woman also died.
20:33	In the resurrection, sedan, whose wife will she be? For certainly all seven had her as a wife.”
20:34	Och så, Jesus said to them: “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.
20:35	Ändå verkligen, those who shall be held worthy of that age, and of the resurrection from the dead, will neither be married, nor take wives.
20:36	For they can no longer die. For they are equal to the Angels, and they are children of God, since they are children of the resurrection.
20:37	For in truth, the dead do rise again, as Moses also showed beside the bush, when he called the Lord: ‘The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
20:38	And so he is not the God of the dead, but of the living. For all are alive to him.”
20:39	Then some of the scribes, in response, sa till honom, “Teacher, you have spoken well.”
20:40	And they no longer dared to question him about anything.
