The Letter of Saint James 1: 12-18

1:12 Blessed is the man who suffers temptation. For when he has been proven, he shall receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.
1:13 No one should say, when he is tempted, that he was tempted by God. For God does not entice toward evils, and he himself tempts no one.
1:14 Ach dha-rìribh, each one is tempted by his own desires, having been enticed and drawn away.
1:15 Às deidh sin, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin. Yet truly sin, when it has been consummated, produces death.
1:16 Agus mar sin, do not choose to go astray, my most beloved brothers.
1:17 Every excellent gift and every perfect gift is from above, descending from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor any shadow of alteration.
1:18 For by his own will he produced us through the Word of truth, so that we might be a kind of beginning among his creatures.

Soisgeul

An Soisgeul Naomh rèir Mharcais 8: 14-21

8:14 Agus dhìochuimhnich iad aran a ghabhail. Agus cha robh duine aca maille riu anns an eathar, ach aon bhuileann.
8:15 Agus dh' àithn e dhoibh, ag ràdh: " Smuainichibh agus faicibh o thaois ghoirt nam Phairiseach, agus o thaois ghoirt Heroid."
8:16 Agus bhruidhinn iad seo ri chèile, ag ràdh, “Oir chan eil aran againn.”
8:17 Agus Iosa, fios seo, thubhairt riu: “Carson a tha thu den bheachd gur ann air sgàth nach eil aran agad a tha e? Nach eil thu eòlach no tuigsinn fhathast? A bheil dall fhathast nad chridhe?
8:18 Le sùilean, nach faic thu? Agus le cluasan, nach cluinn thu? Nach eil cuimhne agad,
8:19 nuair a bhris mi na còig gaol am measg nan còig mìle, cia mheud basgaid làn de chriomagan a thog thu?” thuirt iad ris, "Dhà-dheug."
8:20 “Agus nuair a bha na seachd bonnaich am measg nan ceithir mìle, cia mheud basgaid de chriomagan a thog thu?” Agus thuirt iad ris, “Seachdnar.”
8:21 Agus thubhairt esan riu, “Ciamar nach eil thu fhathast a’ tuigsinn?”
