1:15 Ngaloo mihla, UPetros, ephakama phakathi kwabazalwana, watsho (ngoku indimbane yamadoda iyonke yayimalunga nekhulu elinamashumi amabini):

1:16 “Abazalwana abadumileyo, iSibhalo simelwe kukuzaliseka, awathi uMoya oyiNgcwele wayixela kwangaphambili ngomlomo kaDavide ngoYudas, owayeyinkokeli yabo bambamba uYesu.

1:17 Wayebalelwe phakathi kwethu, waza wanyulwa ngeqashiso kulo msebenzi.

1:20 kuba kubhaliwe encwadini yeeNdumiso;: ‘Indawo yabo yokuhlala mayibe senkangala yaye kwanga kungabikho bani uhleliyo kuyo,’ nokuthi ‘Ubufundisi bakhe makathabathe omnye.

1:21 Ngoko ke, kuyimfuneko ukuba, siphuma kula madoda abehlanganisene nathi ngalo lonke ixesha iNkosi uYesu, ibingena iphuma phakathi kwethu,

1:22 eqalela elubhaptizweni lukaYohane, kwada kwayimini awanyuswa ngayo kuthi, omnye waba makabe lingqina kunye nathi ngoVuko lwakhe.”

1:23 Bamisa ke ababini: uYosefu, ekuthiwa nguBharsabhas, owayenefani enguYusto, kunye noMatiya.

1:24 Nokuthandaza, bathe: “Ngamana, Owu Nkosi, oyaziyo intliziyo yomntu wonke, chaza ukuba yeyiphi kwezi zibini oyikhethileyo,

1:25 ukuba athabathe indawo kolu lungiselelo nobupostile, apho uYudas waphumelela, ukuze aye endaweni yakhe.”

1:26 Bawisa amaqashiso ngabo, laphuma iqashiso noMatiya. Kwaye wabalelwa kunye nabapostile abalishumi elinanye.

The First Letter of Saint John 4: 11-16

4:11 Zintanda kakhulu, ukuba wenjenjalo uThixo ukusithanda, nathi sifanele ukuba sithandane.

4:12 Akukho namnye wakha wambona uThixo;. Kodwa ukuba siyathandana, UThixo uhleli kuthi, yaye uthando lwakhe lugqibelele kuthi.

4:13 Ngele ndlela, siyazi ukuba sihleli kuye, naye ungaphakathi kwethu: ngokuba usinike yena ngoMoya wakhe.

4:14 Kwaye sibonile, kwaye siyangqina, ukuba uYise wamthuma uNyana wakhe ukuba abe nguMsindisi wehlabathi.

4:15 Nabani na othe wavuma ukuba uYesu unguye uNyana kaThixo, UThixo uhleli kuye, kwaye yena kuThixo.

4:16 Thina siyalwazi, sakholwa uthando lukaThixo analo ngathi. uthixo Luthando. Kwaye lowo uhlala eluthandweni, abides in uThixo, noThixo kuye.

The Holy Gospel According to Saint John 17: 11-19

17:11 And though I am not in the world, these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Father most holy, preserve them in your name, those whom you have given to me, so that they may be one, even as we are one.

17:12 While I was with them, I preserved them in your name. I have guarded those whom you have given to me, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.

17:13 And now I am coming to you. But I am speaking these things in the world, so that they may have the fullness of my joy within themselves.

17:14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I, ngokunjalo, am not of the world.

17:15 I am not praying that you would take them out of the world, but that you would preserve them from evil.

17:16 They are not of the world, just as I also am not of the world.

17:17 Sanctify them in truth. Your word is truth.

17:18 Just as you have sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

17:19 And it is for them that I sanctify myself, so that they, ngokunjalo, may be sanctified in truth.
