Wafilipi 1: 1-11

1:1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons.

1:2 Neema na amani iwe kwenu, kutoka kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kutoka kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo.

1:3 Namshukuru Mungu wangu, with every remembrance of you,

1:4 always, in all my prayers, making supplication for all of you with joy,

1:5 because of your communion in the Gospel of Christ, from the first day even until now.

1:6 I am confident of this very thing: that he who has begun this good work in you will perfect it, unto the day of Christ Jesus.

1:7 Hivyo basi, it is right for me to feel this way about all of you, because I hold you in my heart, and because, in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the Gospel, you all are partakers of my joy.

1:8 For God is my witness how, within the heart of Jesus Christ, I long for all of you.

1:9 And this I pray: that your charity may abound more and more, with knowledge and with all understanding,

1:10 so that you may be confirmed in what is better, in order that you may be sincere and without offense on the day of Christ:

Luka 14: 1-6

14:1 Na ikawa hivyo, Yesu alipoingia katika nyumba ya kiongozi mmoja wa Mafarisayo siku ya sabato ili kula chakula, walikuwa wakimtazama.

14:2 Na tazama, mtu fulani mbele yake alikuwa na uvimbe.

14:3 Na kujibu, Yesu alizungumza na walimu wa sheria na Mafarisayo, akisema, “Je, ni halali kuponya siku ya Sabato??”

14:4 Lakini wakanyamaza. Bado kweli, kumshika, akamponya na kumfukuza.

14:5 Na kuwajibu, alisema, “Ni nani kati yenu ambaye punda au ng’ombe atatumbukia shimoni, na hatamtoa nje mara moja, siku ya Sabato?”

14:6 Na hawakuweza kumjibu juu ya mambo haya.
