Πρώτη Ανάγνωση

 

Οι Πράξεις των Αποστόλων 10: 25-26, 34-35, 44-48

10:25 Και έγινε αυτό, όταν ο Πέτρος είχε μπει, Ο Κορνήλιος πήγε να τον συναντήσει. Και πέφτοντας μπροστά στα πόδια του, σεβάστηκε.

10:26 Κι όμως αληθινά, Πέτρος, σηκώνοντάς τον ψηλά, είπε: «Σήκω, γιατί κι εγώ είμαι μόνο άντρας».

10:34 Επειτα, Πέτρος, ανοίγοντας το στόμα του, είπε: «Στην αλήθεια συμπέρανα ότι ο Θεός δεν σέβεται τα πρόσωπα.

10:35 Αλλά μέσα σε κάθε έθνος, όποιος τον φοβάται και ασκεί δικαιοσύνη είναι αποδεκτός από αυτόν.

10:44 Ενώ ο Πέτρος έλεγε ακόμη αυτά τα λόγια, το Άγιο Πνεύμα έπεσε πάνω σε όλους εκείνους που άκουγαν τον Λόγο.

10:45 Και οι πιστοί της περιτομής, που είχε φτάσει με τον Πέτρο, έμειναν έκπληκτοι που η χάρη του Αγίου Πνεύματος ξεχύθηκε και στους Εθνικούς.

10:46 Διότι τους άκουσαν να μιλούν σε γλώσσες και να μεγαλοποιούν τον Θεό.

10:47 Τότε ο Πέτρος απάντησε, «Πώς θα μπορούσε κανείς να απαγορεύσει το νερό, για να μη βαπτιστούν όσοι έλαβαν το Άγιο Πνεύμα, όπως και εμείς?”

10:48 Και διέταξε να βαπτιστούν στο όνομα του Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού. Τότε τον παρακάλεσαν να μείνει μαζί τους μερικές μέρες.

 

Δεύτερη Ανάγνωση

The First Letter of Saint John 4: 7-10

4:7 Most beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God. And everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

4:8 Whoever does not love, does not know God. For God is love.

4:9 The love of God was made apparent to us in this way: that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

4:10 In this is love: not as if we had loved God, but that he first loved us, and so he sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins.

Το κατά Ιωάννη Ιερό Ευαγγέλιο 15: 9-17

15:9 As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Abide in my love.

15:10 If you keep my precepts, you shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept my Father’s precepts and I abide in his love.

15:11 These things I have spoken to you, so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be fulfilled.

15:12 This is my precept: that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

15:13 No one has a greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.

15:14 You are my friends, if you do what I instruct you.

15:15 I will no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Lord is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything whatsoever that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you.

15:17 This I command you: that you love one another.
