First Reading

The Acts of Apostles 2: 14, 22-33

2:14 pero pedro, de pie con los once, levantó su voz, y les habló: “Hombres de Judea, y todos los que están en Jerusalén, que esto te sea conocido, e inclinad vuestros oídos a mis palabras.
2:22 hombres de israel, escucha estas palabras: Jesús el Nazareno es un hombre confirmado por Dios entre vosotros por los milagros y prodigios y señales que Dios realizó por medio de él en medio de vosotros, así como tú también sabes.
2:23 Este hombre, bajo el plan definitivo y la presciencia de Dios, fue entregado por manos de los injustos, afligido, y dar muerte.
2:24 Y aquel a quien Dios ha resucitado ha quebrantado las penas del Infierno, porque ciertamente era imposible para él ser retenido por ella.
2:25 Porque David dijo acerca de él: 'Veía al Señor siempre a mi vista, porque él está a mi diestra, para que yo no sea movido.
2:26 Debido a esto, mi corazón se ha regocijado, y mi lengua se ha regocijado. Además, mi carne también reposará en la esperanza.
2:27 Porque no abandonarás mi alma al Infierno, ni permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.
2:28 me has dado a conocer los caminos de la vida. Me llenarás completamente de felicidad con tu presencia”.
2:29 hermanos nobles, permítanme hablarles libremente sobre el patriarca David: porque falleció y fue sepultado, y su sepulcro está con nosotros, incluso hasta el día de hoy.
2:30 Por lo tanto, el era un profeta, porque sabía que Dios le había hecho juramento acerca del fruto de sus lomos, sobre Aquel que se sentaría en su trono.
2:31 previendo esto, hablaba de la Resurrección de Cristo. porque ni se quedó atrás en el infierno, ni su carne vio corrupción.
2:32 este jesus, Dios resucitó, y de esto todos somos testigos.

Segunda Lectura

First Letter of Peter 1: 17-21

1:17 Y si invocas como Padre a aquel que, sin mostrar favoritismo a las personas, juzga según la obra de cada uno, entonces actúa con miedo durante el tiempo de tu estancia aquí.

1:18 Porque sabéis que no fue con oro corruptible ni con plata que fuisteis redimidos de vuestra conducta inútil en las tradiciones de vuestros padres.,

1:19 pero fue con la sangre preciosa de Cristo, un cordero inmaculado y sin mancha,

1:20 conocido de antemano, ciertamente, antes de la fundación del mundo, y manifestado en estos postreros tiempos por causa de vosotros.

1:21 A través de él, has sido fiel a Dios, quien lo resucitó de entre los muertos y le dio gloria, para que vuestra fe y esperanza sea en Dios.

The Holy Gospel According to Luke 24: 13-35

24:13 y he aquí, two of them went out, En el mismo día, to a town named Emmaus, which was the distance of sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
24:14 And they spoke to one another about all of these things that had occurred.
24:15 Y sucedió que, while they were speculating and questioning within themselves, Jesus himself, acercandose, traveled with them.
24:16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they would not recognize him.
24:17 Y les dijo, “What are these words, which you are discussing with one another, as you walk and are sad?”
24:18 y uno de ellos, whose name was Cleopas, responded by saying to him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”
24:19 Y les dijo, “What things?Y ellos dijeron, “About Jesus of Nazareth, who was a noble prophet, powerful in works and in words, before God and all the people.
24:20 And how our high priests and leaders handed him over to be condemned to death. And they crucified him.
24:21 But we were hoping that he would be the Redeemer of Israel. Y ahora, on top of all this, today is the third day since these things have happened.
24:22 Entonces, también, certain women from among us terrified us. For before daytime, they were at the tomb,
24:23 y, having not found his body, they returned, saying that they had even seen a vision of Angels, who said that he is alive.
24:24 And some of us went out to the tomb. And they found it just as the women had said. pero verdaderamente, they did not find him.”
24:25 Y les dijo: “How foolish and reluctant in heart you are, to believe everything that has been spoken by the Prophets!
24:26 Was not the Christ required to suffer these things, and so enter into his glory?”
24:27 And beginning from Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted for them, in all the Scriptures, the things that were about him.
24:28 And they drew near to the town where they were going. And he conducted himself so as to go on further.
24:29 But they were insistent with him, dicho, “Remain with us, because it is toward evening and now daylight is declining.” And so he entered with them.
24:30 Y sucedió que, while he was at table with them, he took bread, and he blessed and broke it, and he extended it to them.
24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their eyes.
24:32 And they said to one another, “Was not our heart burning within us, while he was speaking on the way, and when he opened the Scriptures to us?”
24:33 And rising up at that same hour, regresaron a Jerusalén. And they found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
24:34 dicho: “In truth, the Lord has risen, and he has appeared to Simon.”
24:35 And they explained the things that were done on the way, and how they had recognized him at the breaking of the bread.
