“Umbuso wezulu ufana nomuntu owayeyinkosi, owagubha umshado wendodana yakhe. |

Wathuma izinceku zakhe ukuba zibize abamenyiweyo emshadweni. Kodwa babengazimisele ukuza. |

Futhi, wathuma ezinye izinceku, ethi, ‘Tshela abamenyiwe: Bheka, Sengikulungisile ukudla kwami. Izinkunzi zami namathole akhuluphalisiweyo abulewe, futhi konke sekulungile. Wozani emshadweni.’ |

Kodwa lapho inkosi ikuzwa lokho, wathukuthela. Futhi ethumela amabutho akhe, wababhubhisa labo babulali, washisa umuzi wabo. |

Wayesethi ezincekwini zakhe: ‘Umshado, ngempela, sekulungisiwe. Kodwa labo ababemenyiwe babengafanelekile. |

Ngakho-ke, phumani niye ezindleleni, nibizele emtshadweni loba ngubani enimfumana. |
| 22:10 |
Nezinceku zakhe, ephuma ezindleleni, babutha bonke ababatholayo, okubi nokuhle, umshado wagcwala abahlezi ekudleni. |

Inkosi yangena ukuyobona abahleziyo. Wabona khona umuntu owayeyembethe ingubo yomshado. |

Wathi kuye, ‘Mngane, ungene kanjani lapha ungenayo ingubo yomshado?’ Kodwa wayethukile. |
| 22:13 |
Yabe isithi inkosi ezikhonzini: ‘Mbophe izandla nezinyawo, amkhiphele ebumnyameni obungaphandle, lapho kuyakuba khona ukukhala nokugedla amazinyo. |
| 22:14 |
Ngoba baningi ababiziweyo, kodwa bambalwa abakhethiweyo.’ ” |

Then the Pharisees, ephuma, took counsel as to how they might entrap him in speech. |

And they sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians, ethi: “Mfundisi, we know that you are truthful, and that you teach the way of God in truth, and that the influence of others is nothing to you. For you do not consider the reputation of men. |

Kodwa eyesibili iyafana nayo: ‘Kumelwe uthande umakhelwane wakho njengoba uzithanda wena.’ |

Khona-ke, when the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them, |

And no one was able to respond to him a word. And neither did anyone dare, from that day forward, to question him. |
