Ukufunda

The Letter of Saint James 2: 14-24, 26

2:14	Bafwethu, kunanzuzoni uma umuntu ethi unokholo, kodwa akanayo imisebenzi? Ukukholwa kwakuyokwazi kanjani ukumsindisa?
2:15	Ngakho uma umzalwane noma udade enqunu futhi edinga ukudla nsuku zonke,
2:16	futhi uba noma ubani kini ongathi kubo: “Hamba ngokuthula, hlala ufudumele futhi wondlekile,” nokho ningabaniki okudingekile komzimba, lokhu kuyinzuzoni?
2:17	Kanjalo nokukholwa, uma ingenayo imisebenzi, ufile, ngaphakathi futhi ngokwayo.
2:18	Manje omunye angase athi: “Unokholo, futhi nginemisebenzi. Ngibonise ukholo lwakho ngaphandle kwemisebenzi! Kodwa mina ngizokukhombisa ukholo lwami ngemisebenzi.
2:19	Uyakholwa ukuthi munye uNkulunkulu. Wenza kahle. Kodwa amademoni nawo ayakholwa, bayathuthumela kakhulu.
2:20	Ngakho-ke, uzimisele ukuqonda, Hhawu ndoda, ukuthi ukukholwa ngaphandle kwemisebenzi kufile?
2:21	Ubaba wethu u-Abrahama akalungisiswanga yini ngemisebenzi?, ngokunikela ngendodana yakhe u-Isaka e-altare?
2:22	Uyabona ukuthi ukholo lwalubambisana nemisebenzi yakhe, nokuthi ukholo lwagcwaliseka ngemisebenzi?
2:23	Kwase kugcwaliseka umBhalo othi: “U-Abrahama wamkholwa uNkulunkulu, futhi kwabalelwa kuye njengokulunga.” Futhi ngakho wabizwa ngokuthi umngane kaNkulunkulu.
2:24	Niyabona ukuthi umuntu ulungisiswa ngemisebenzi na?, njalo kungeyisikho ngokukholwa kuphela?
2:26	Ngoba njengoba nje umzimba ngaphandle komoya ufile, ngokunjalo nokukholwa ngaphandle kwemisebenzi kufile.

8:34	And calling together the crowd with his disciples, wathi kubo, “If anyone chooses to follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
8:35	For whoever will have chosen to save his life, izolahlekelwa yiyo. But whoever will have lost his life, for my sake and for the Gospel, shall save it.
8:36	For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, and yet causes harm to his soul?
8:37	Noma, what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
8:38	For whoever has been ashamed of me and of my words, among this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he will arrive in the glory of his Father, with the holy Angels.”
8:39	Wathi kubo, “Amen ngithi kuwe, that there are some among those standing here who shall not taste death until they see the kingdom of God arriving in power.”
