Izenzo Zabaphostoli 3: 13-15, 17-19

3:13 UNkulunkulu ka-Abrahama noNkulunkulu ka-Isaka noNkulunkulu kaJakobe, uNkulunkulu wawobaba, uyikhazimulisile iNdodana yakhe uJesu, ubani wena, ngempela, wanikelwa waphika phambi kobuso bukaPilatu, lapho ekhipha isahlulelo sokumkhulula.
3:14 Bese niphika oNgcwele noLungileyo, futhi wacela ukuba aphiwe umbulali.
3:15 Ngempela, nguMsunguli wokuphila enambulala, uNkulunkulu wamvusa kwabafileyo, esingofakazi bakhe.
3:17 Futhi manje, bazalwane, Ngiyazi ukuthi wenze lokhu ngokungazi, njengoba kwenza nabaholi benu.
3:18 Kodwa ngale ndlela uNkulunkulu uzifezile izinto azimemezela ngaphambili ngomlomo wabo bonke abaProfethi: ukuthi uKristu wakhe uzohlupheka.
3:19 Ngakho-ke, phenduka futhi uphenduke, ukuze izono zenu zesulwe.

Second reading

The First Letter of Saint John 2: 1-5

2:1 Amadodana ami amancane, lokhu nginilobela khona, ukuze ningoni. Kodwa uma kukhona onile, sinoMmeli kuBaba, UJesu Kristu, Lowo Nje.
2:2 Futhi uyinhlawulo yezono zethu. Futhi hhayi kuphela ngenxa yezono zethu, kodwa futhi nakulabo bomhlaba wonke.
2:3 And we can be sure that we have known him by this: if we observe his commandments.
2:4 Whoever claims that he knows him, and yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
2:5 But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the charity of God is perfected. And by this we know that we are in him.
