Reading

The Acts of the Apostles 6: 8-15

6:8	Så Stephen, fyldt med ynde og styrke, udførte store tegn og mirakler blandt folket.
6:9	Men visse, fra de såkaldte libertineres synagoge, og kyrenerne, og Alexandrianerne, og af dem, som vare fra Kilikien og Asien, rejste sig og skændtes med Stefanus.
6:10	Men de var ikke i stand til at modstå den visdom og den Ånd, som han talte med.
6:11	Så underordnede de mænd, som skulle hævde, at de havde hørt ham tale blasfemi mod Moses og mod Gud.
6:12	Og således ophidsede de folket og de ældste og de skriftkloge. Og skynder sig sammen, de greb ham og førte ham til Rådet.
6:13	Og de opstillede falske vidner, hvem sagde: "Denne mand holder ikke op med at tale ord imod det hellige sted og loven.
6:14	For vi har hørt ham sige, at denne Jesus fra Nazaræeren vil ødelægge dette sted og ændre traditionerne, som Moses har givet os."
6:15	Og alle dem, der sad i rådet, stirrer på ham, så hans ansigt, som om det var blevet en engels ansigt.

The Holy Gospel According to John 6: 22-29

6:22	På den næste dag, the crowd which was standing across the sea saw that there were no other small boats in that place, except one, and that Jesus had not entered into the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had departed alone.
6:23	Men virkelig, other boats came over from Tiberias, next to the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord gave thanks.
6:24	Derfor, when the crowd had seen that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they climbed into the small boats, and they went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
6:25	And when they had found him across the sea, sagde de til ham, "Rabbiner, when did you come here?”
6:26	Jesus answered them and said: "Amen, amen, siger jeg til dig, you seek me, not because you have seen signs, but because you have eaten from the bread and were satisfied.
6:27	Do not work for food that perishes, but for that which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”
6:28	Derfor, sagde de til ham, "Hvad skal vi gøre, so that we may labor in the works of God?”
6:29	Jesus responded and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he sent.”
