be glad and exult, for your reward in heaven is plentiful. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. |

You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its saltiness, with what will it be salted? It is no longer useful at all, except to be cast out and trampled under by men. |

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. |

And they do not light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that it may shine to all who are in the house. |

Sic igitur, let your light shine in the sight of men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father, qui in caelis est. |

Ergo, si offers munus tuum ad altare, et ibi meministi fratrem tuum habere aliquid adversum te, |

munus tuum ibi relinquo, ante altare, et vade prius reconciliari fratri tuo, et tunc accedas et offeras munus tuum. |

reconciliari cito adversario tuo, dum adhuc in via cum eo, ne forte tradat te adversarius iudici, et iudex tradat te ministro, et in carcerem coniectus. |

Amen dico vobis, non exies inde, donec reddas ultima quarta. |

Audistis quia dictum est senioribus: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ |

Audistis quia dictum est, 'Diliges proximum tuum', et habebis odium inimicum tuum. |

Sed dico vobis: Diligite inimicos vestros. Benefacite his qui oderunt vos. et orate pro persequentibus et calumniantibus vos. |

Hoc modo, eritis filii patris vestri, qui in caelis est. oriri facit solem suum super bonos et malos, et plui super iustos et iniustos. |
