Acta Apostolorum 13: 13-25

13:13 And when Paul and those who were with him had sailed from Paphos, they arrived at Perga in Pamphylia. Then John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

13:14 Sed vere, they, traveling on from Perga, arrived at Antioch in Pisidia. And upon entering the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.

13:15 deinde, after the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent to them, dicens: “Noble brothers, if there is in you any word of exhortation to the people, speak.”

13:16 Tunc Paulus, surgens et movens silentio manum suam, dixit: "Viri Israel et qui timetis Deum", audi propinqua.

13:17 Deus plebis Israel elegit patres nostros, et exaltavit populum, cum essent incolae in terra Aegypti. Et in brachio excelso, eduxit eos inde.

13:18 And throughout a time of forty years, he endured their behavior in the desert.

13:19 And by destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land among them by lot,

13:20 after about four hundred and fifty years. Et post haec, he gave them judges, even until the prophet Samuel.

13:21 And later on, they petitioned for a king. And God gave them Saul, filius Cis, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

13:22 Et amoto eo, suscitavit eis regem David. et testimonium perhibuit de eo, dixit, 'Inveni David', filius Isai, esse hominem secundum cor meum, qui omnia quae volo efficiet.'

13:23 Ab eius semine, secundum promissionem, Deus perduxit Jesum Salvatorem Israeli.

13:24 Ioannes praedicabat, ante faciem adventus sui, baptisma paenitentiae omni populo Israel.

13:25 deinde, Cum Ioannes cursum suum, dicebat: 'Ego non sum quem me esse existimas'. Ecce enim, unum post me advenit, cuius non sum dignus calceamenta pedum solvere.'

John 13: 16-20

13:16 Amen, Amen, tibi dico, non est servus maior domino suo, et apostolus non est maior eo qui misit illum.

13:17 Hoc si intellegis, beati eritis si feceritis.

13:18 Non loquor de omnibus vobis. ego scio quos elegerim. Sed hoc ut impleatur Scriptura, 'Qui manducat mecum panem, levabit contra me calcaneum suum.'

13:19 Et hoc nunc tibi dico, antequam fit, ut cum accidit, ut credas quod ego sum.

13:20 Amen, Amen, tibi dico, quicumque accipit quem ego mitto, me accipit. Et qui me recipit, recipit eum qui me misit.
