The Holy Gospel According to John 1: 35-42

1:35 The next day again, John was standing with two of his disciples.
1:36 And catching sight of Jesus walking, hij zei, “Zie, the Lamb of God.”
1:37 And two disciples were listening to him speaking. And they followed Jesus.
1:38 Dan Jezus, turning around and seeing them following him, zei tegen hen, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi (which means in translation, Teacher), where do you live?”
1:39 Hij zei tegen hen, “Come and see.” They went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about the tenth hour.
1:40 And Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who had heard about him from John and had followed him.
1:41 Eerst, he found his brother Simon, en hij zei tegen hem, “We have found the Messiah,” (which is translated as the Christ).
1:42 And he led him to Jesus. En Jezus, naar hem staren, gezegd: “You are Simon, son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas,” (which is translated as Peter).
