Exodus 34: 4-6, 8-9

34:4 And so he cut out two tablets of stone, like those that were before. And rising up in the night, he ascended onto Mount Sinai, just as the Lord had instructed him, carrying with him the tablets.

34:5 And when the Lord had descended in a cloud, Moses stood with him, calling upon the name of the Lord.

34:6 And as he was crossing before him, hij zei: “The Ruler, de Here God, merciful and lenient, patient and full of compassion and also truthful,

34:8 And hurrying, Moses bowed down prostrate to the ground; and worshiping,

34:9 hij zei: “If I have found grace in your sight, O Heer, I beg you to walk with us, (for the people are stiff-necked) and take away our iniquities and our sin, and so possess us.

Second Reading

Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians 13: 11-13

13:11 As to the rest, broers, blij zijn, be perfect, be encouraged, have the same mind, have peace. And so the God of peace and love will be with you.

13:12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Alle heiligen groeten u.

13:13 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the charity of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

John 13: 16-18

13:16 Amen, amen, ik zeg je, de dienaar is niet groter dan zijn Heer, en de apostel is niet groter dan hij die hem gezonden heeft.

13:17 Als je dit begrijpt, je zult gezegend zijn als je het doet.

13:18 Ik heb het niet over jullie allemaal. Ik ken degenen die ik heb uitgekozen. Maar dit is opdat de Schrift vervuld zou worden, ‘He who eats bread with me shall lift up his heel against me.
