Isaias 42: 1- 7
| 42:1 | Behold my servant, I will uphold him, my elect, with him my soul is well-pleased. I have sent my Spirit upon him. He will offer judgment to the nations. |
| 42:2 | He will not cry out, and he will not show favoritism to anyone; neither will his voice be heard abroad. |
| 42:3 | The bruised reed he will not break, and the smoldering wick he will not extinguish. He will lead forth judgment unto truth. |
| 42:4 | He will not be saddened or troubled, until he establishes judgment on earth. And the islands will await his law. |
| 42:5 | haec dicit Dominus Deus, who created the heavens and expanded it, who formed the earth and all that springs from it, who gives breath to the people in it, and spirit to those walking on it. |
| 42:6 | ego, Dominus, have called you in justice, and I have taken your hand and preserved you. And I have presented you as a covenant of the people, as a light to the Gentiles, |
| 42:7 | so that you may open the eyes of the blind, and lead out the prisoner from confinement and those sitting in darkness from the house of incarceration. |
John 12: 1- 11
| 12:1 | Deinde ante sex dies Paschae, Iesus perrexit Bethaniam, ubi mortuus fuerat Lazarus, quem Iesus suscitavit. |
| 12:2 | Feceruntque ei cenam ibi. Martha autem ministrabat. Et vere, Lazarus unus ex discumbentibus cum eo. |
| 12:3 | Tunc Maria accepit nardi nardi uncias duodecim, valde pretiosum, et unxit pedes Iesu, et capillis suis tersit pedes. domus autem impleta est odore unguenti. |
| 12:4 | Tunc quidam ex discipulis eius, Judas Iscariot, qui mox traditurus est, dixit, |
| 12:5 | quare hoc unguentum non veniit trecentis denariis et datum est egenis?" |
| 12:6 | Hoc autem dixit, non ex cura egenis, sed quia fur erat, quoniam loculos tenebat, portabat quod immissum est. |
| 12:7 | Jesus autem dixit: "Permitte eam", ut in diem sepulturae meae servet illud. |
| 12:8 | Nam pauperem, habetis vobiscum semper. Sed me, non semper habetis. " |
| 12:9 | Cognovit autem turba multa Iudaeorum quia ibi erat, et sic venerunt, non tam propter Jesum, sed ut Lazarum viderent, quem suscitavit a mortuis. |
