Lezing

The Second Letter of Saint John 1: 4-9

1:4	Ik was erg blij omdat ik ontdekte dat sommige van uw zonen in de waarheid wandelen, net zoals we het gebod van de Vader hebben ontvangen.
1:5	En nu verzoek ik u, Dame, niet alsof je een nieuw gebod schrijft, maar in plaats daarvan dat gebod dat we vanaf het begin hebben gehad: dat we van elkaar houden.
1:6	En dit is liefde: dat wij wandelen naar zijn geboden. Want dit is het gebod dat u vanaf het begin op dezelfde manier hebt gehoord, en waarin je moet lopen.
1:7	Want vele bedriegers zijn de wereld ingegaan, degenen die niet belijden dat Jezus Christus in het vlees is aangekomen. Zo iemand als deze is een bedrieger en een antichrist.
1:8	Wees voorzichtig voor jezelf, opdat je niet verliest wat je hebt bereikt, en zo dat, in plaats van, u kunt een volledige beloning ontvangen.
1:9	Iedereen die zich terugtrekt en niet blijft in de leer van Christus, heeft God niet. Wie in de leer blijft, zo iemand als deze heeft zowel de Vader als de Zoon.

The Holy Gospel According to Luke 17: 26-37

17:26	And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of man.
17:27	They were eating and drinking; they were taking wives and being given in marriage, even until the day that Noah entered the ark. And the flood came and destroyed them all.
17:28	It shall be similar to what happened in the days of Lot. They were eating and drinking; they were buying and selling; they were planting and building.
17:29	Dan, on the day that Lot departed from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and it destroyed them all.
17:30	According to these things, so shall it be in the day when the Son of man will be revealed.
17:31	In that hour, whoever will be on the rooftop, with his goods in the house, let him not descend to take them. And whoever will be in the field, evenzo, let him not turn back.
17:32	Remember Lot’s wife.
17:33	Whoever has sought to save his life, will lose it; and whoever has lost it, will bring it back to life.
17:34	ik zeg je, in that night, there will be two in one bed. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind.
17:35	Two will be at the grindstone together. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind. Two will be in the field. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind.”
17:36	Responding, zeiden ze tegen hem, “Where, Heer?”
17:37	En hij zei tegen hen, “Wherever the body will be, in that place also, the eagles shall be gathered together.”
