Prvé čítanie

The Book of the Prophet Jonah 3: 1-10

3:1	A slovo Hospodinovo prišlo k Jonášovi druhýkrát, hovorí:
3:2	Vstať, a ísť do Ninive, veľké mesto. A hlásajte v ňom kázanie, ktoré vám hovorím.
3:3	A Jonáš vstal, a odišiel do Ninive podľa Pánovho slova. A Ninive bolo veľké mesto na tri dni cesty.
3:4	A Jonáš začal vchádzať do mesta na jednodňovú cestu. A vykríkol a povedal, "Ešte štyridsať dní a Ninive bude zničené."
3:5	A muži z Ninive uverili v Boha. A vyhlásili pôst, a obliekli si vrecovinu, od najväčšieho až po najmenšieho.
3:6	A správa sa dostala ku kráľovi Ninive. A vstal zo svojho trónu, a zhodil zo seba svoje rúcho a obliekol sa do vrecoviny, a sedel v popole.
3:7	A kričal a hovoril: „V Ninive, z úst kráľa a jeho kniežat, nech sa povie: Muži a zvieratá, voly a ovce nemusia nič ochutnať. Ani sa nebudú kŕmiť ani piť vodu.
3:8	A nech sú ľudia a zvieratá prikryté vrecovinou, a nech silne volajú k Pánovi, a nech sa človek odvráti od svojej zlej cesty, a od neprávosti, ktorá je v ich rukách.
3:9	Ktovie, či sa Boh môže obrátiť a odpustiť, a môže sa odvrátiť od svojho zúrivého hnevu, aby sme nezahynuli?“
3:10	A Boh videl ich skutky, že sa obrátili zo svojej zlej cesty. A Boh sa nad nimi zľutoval, o škode, o ktorej povedal, že im spôsobí, a neurobil to.

 

Druhé čítanie

The First Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 7: 29-31

7:29	A tak, this is what I say, bratia: The time is short. What remains of it is such that: those who have wives should be as if they had none;
7:30	and those who weep, as though they were not weeping; and those who rejoice, as if they were not rejoicing; and those who buy, as if they possessed nothing;
7:31	and those who use the things of this world, as if they were not using them. For the figure of this world is passing away.

The Holy Gospel According to Mark 1: 14-20

1:14	Potom, after John was handed over, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,
1:15	a hovorí: “For the time has been fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Repent and believe in the Gospel.”
1:16	And passing by the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew, casting nets into the sea, lebo to boli rybári.
1:17	And Jesus said to them, “Come after me, a urobím z vás rybárov ľudí."
1:18	And at once abandoning their nets, išli za ním.
1:19	And continuing on a little ways from there, he saw James of Zebedee and his brother John, and they were mending their nets in a boat.
1:20	And immediately he called them. And leaving behind their father Zebedee in the boat with his hired hands, išli za ním.
