Lectura

Primera carta als Corintis 9: 16-19, 22-27

9:16 Perquè si predico l'Evangeli, no és glòria per a mi. Perquè m'ha imposat una obligació. I ai de mi, si no predico l'Evangeli.

9:17 Perquè si ho faig de bon grat, Tinc una recompensa. Però si ho faig de mala gana, se'm concedeix una dispensa.

9:18 I què, aleshores, seria la meva recompensa? Tan, quan es predica l'Evangeli, Hauria de donar l'Evangeli sense prendre, perquè no abusi de la meva autoritat en l'Evangeli.

9:19 Per quan jo era un home lliure per a tots, Em vaig fer el servent de tots, perquè pugui guanyar encara més.

9:22 Als febles, Em vaig fer feble, perquè pugui guanyar els febles. A tots, Em vaig convertir en tot, per poder salvar-ho tot.

9:23 I ho faig tot pel bé de l'Evangeli, perquè jo pugui ser-ne soci.

9:24 Do you not know that, of those who run in a race, all of them, sens dubte, are runners, but only one achieves the prize. De la mateixa manera, you must run, so that you may achieve.

9:25 And one who competes in a contest abstains from all things. And they do this, of course, so that they may achieve a corruptible crown. But we do this, so that we may achieve what is incorruptible.

9:26 And so I run, but not with uncertainty. And so I fight, but not by flailing in the air.

9:27 En canvi, I chastise my body, so as to redirect it into servitude. D'una altra manera, I might preach to others, but become myself an outcast.

Luke 6: 39-42

6:39 Now he told them another comparison: “How can the blind lead the blind? Would they not both fall into a pit?

6:40 The disciple is not above his teacher. But each one will be perfected, if he is like his teacher.

6:41 And why do you see the straw that is in your brother’s eye, while the log that is in your own eye, you do not consider?

6:42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ while you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the log from your own eye, and then will you see clearly, so that you may lead out the straw from your brother’s eye.
