Kapłańska 25: 1, 8- 17

25:1 I przemówił Pan do Mojżesza na górze Synaj, powiedzenie:

25:8 Policzycie sobie także siedem tygodni lat, to jest, siedem razy siedem, co razem daje czterdzieści dziewięć lat.

25:9 I zatrąbicie w trąbę w siódmym miesiącu, dziesiątego dnia miesiąca, w czasie zadośćuczynienia, po całej twojej ziemi.

25:10 I poświęcicie pięćdziesiąty rok, i ogłosicie odpuszczenie dla wszystkich mieszkańców waszej ziemi: bo to samo jest Jubileuszem. Człowiek powróci do swojej własności, i każdy powróci do swojej pierwotnej rodziny,

25:11 bo to Jubileusz i pięćdziesiąty rok. Nie będziecie siać, i nie będziesz żął tego, co samo rośnie na polu, i nie będziecie zbierać pierwocin z plonów,

25:12 z powodu uświęcenia Jubileuszu. Ale będziecie je jeść, gdy się pojawią.

25:13 W roku Jubileuszowym, wszyscy powrócą do swoich posiadłości.

25:14 Kiedy sprzedasz cokolwiek swojemu współobywatelowi, albo coś od niego kupić, nie zasmucaj brata, ale kupujcie od niego według liczby lat od Jubileuszu,

25:15 a on ci sprzeda według rachunku urodzaju.

25:16 Im więcej lat pozostanie po Jubileuszu, tym bardziej cena wzrośnie, i tym mniej czas jest policzony, o tyle niższa będzie cena zakupu. Bo on wam sprzeda czas na plony.

25:17 Bądź gotów utrapić swoich rodaków, ale niech każdy boi się swego Boga. Albowiem Ja jestem Pan, twój Bóg.

Święta Ewangelia według Mateusza 14: 1-12

14:1	In that time, Herod the Tetrarch heard the news about Jesus.
14:2	I rzekł do swoich sług: “This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and that is why miracles are at work in him.”
14:3	For Herod had apprehended John, and bound him, and put him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother.
14:4	For John was telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
14:5	And though he wanted to kill him, he feared the people, ponieważ uważali go za proroka.
14:6	Następnie, on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced in their midst, and it pleased Herod.
14:7	And so he promised with an oath to give her whatever she would ask of him.

14:9	And the king was greatly saddened. But because of his oath, and because of those who sat at table with him, he ordered it to be given.
14:10	And he sent and beheaded John in prison.
14:11	And his head was brought on a platter, and it was given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
14:12	And his disciples approached and took the body, and they buried it. And arriving, they reported it to Jesus.
