አሁን ሁሉም በልባቸው ስለ ዮሐንስ ያስባሉ, ሕዝቡም እርሱ ክርስቶስ ሊሆን ይችላል ብለው አሰቡ. |

ዮሐንስ ለሁሉም እንዲህ ሲል መለሰ: "በእርግጥም, እኔ በውኃ አጠምቃችኋለሁ. ግን ከእኔ የሚበረታ ይመጣል, የጫማውን ማሰሪያ ልፈታ የማይገባኝ ነው።. እርሱ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ያጠምቃችኋል, እና ከእሳት ጋር. |

His winnowing fan is in his hand. And he will purify his threshing floor. And he will gather the wheat into the barn. But the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” |
