Prva knjiga kraljev 11: 4-13

11:4	And when now he was old, his heart was perverted by the women, so that he followed strange gods. And his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David.
11:5	For Solomon worshipped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Milcom, the idol of the Ammonites.
11:6	And Solomon did what was not pleasing in the sight of the Lord. And he did not continue to follow the Lord, as his father David did.
11:7	Then Solomon built a shrine for Chemosh, the idol of Moab, on the mount that is opposite Jerusalem, and for Milcom, the idol of the sons of Ammon.
11:8	And he acted in this manner for all his foreign wives, who were burning incense and immolating to their gods.
11:9	In tako, the Lord became angry with Solomon, because his mind had been turned away from the Lord, Izraelov Bog, who had appeared to him twice,
11:10	and who had instructed him about this matter, lest he follow strange gods. But he did not observe what the Lord commanded to him.
11:11	In tako, the Lord said to Solomon: “Because you have this with you, and because you have not kept my covenant and my precepts, which I commanded to you, I will tear apart your kingdom, and I will give it to your servant.
11:12	Pa vendar resnično, I will not do it in your days, for the sake of your father David. From the hand of your son, I will tear it away.
11:13	Neither will I take away the whole kingdom. Namesto tega, I will grant one tribe to your son, for the sake of David, moj služabnik, and Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

Mark 7: 24-30

7:24	In vstajanje, od tam je šel na področje Tira in Sidona. In vstop v hišo, nameraval je, da nihče ne izve za to, vendar ni mogel ostati skrit.
7:25	Za žensko, katere hči je imela nečistega duha, takoj ko je slišala zanj, vstopil in mu padel pred noge.
7:26	Kajti žena je bila poganka, po rodu Siro-Feničan. In ga je prosila, da bi izgnal demona iz njene hčerke.
7:27	In rekel ji je: »Najprej dovolite sinovom, da se nasitijo. Kajti ni dobro vzeti sinovom kruha in ga vreči psom.«
7:28	Toda ona mu je odgovorila z besedami: »Vsekakor, gospod. Jedo pa tudi mladi psi, pod mizo, iz drobtin otrok.”
7:29	In rekel ji je, »Zaradi tega izreka, pojdi; demon je odšel iz tvoje hčere.
7:30	In ko je odšla v svojo hišo, je našla dekle ležati na postelji; in demon je odšel.
