The Acts of the Apostles 12: 1-11

12:1	Zdaj hkrati, kralj Herod je iztegnil roko, da bi prizadel nekatere iz Cerkve.
12:2	Potem je ubil Jamesa, Janezov brat, z mečem.
12:3	In ker je bilo to všeč Judom, odpravil se je prijeti tudi Petra. Zdaj so bili dnevi nekvašenega kruha.
12:4	Torej, ko ga je prijel, poslal ga je v zapor, ga predali v pripor štirim skupinam po štirih vojakov, nameravajo ga pokazati ljudstvu po pashi.
12:5	In tako je bil Peter zaprt v zaporu. Toda molitve so se izvajale brez prestanka, s strani Cerkve, Bogu v njegovem imenu.
12:6	In ko je bil Herod pripravljen, da ga proizvede, v isti noči, Peter je spal med dvema vojakoma, in je bil privezan z dvema verigama. In pred vrati so bili stražarji, varovanje zapora.
12:7	In glej, angel Gospodov je stal blizu, in luč je zasvetila v celici. In tapkanje Petra po boku, ga je prebudil, govoriti, »Vstani, hitro." In verige so mu padle z rok.
12:8	Nato mu je angel rekel: »Oblecite se, in si obuj škornje.” In tako je tudi storil. In rekel mu je, "Zavij se v svojo obleko in mi sledi."
12:9	In gre ven, mu je sledil. In te resnice ni poznal: da je to delal angel. Kajti mislil je, da vidi prikazen.
12:10	In mimo prvega in drugega stražarja, prišli so do železnih vrat, ki vodijo v mesto; in odprlo se jim je samo od sebe. In odhod, nadaljevali so po neki stranski ulici. In nenadoma se je angel umaknil od njega.
12:11	In Peter, vračanje k sebi, rekel: "Zdaj vem, resnično, da je Gospod poslal svojega angela, in da me je rešil iz Herodove roke in iz vsega, kar je ljudstvo Judov pričakovalo.«

Drugo branje

The Second Letter of St. Paul to Timothy 4: 6-8, 17-18

4:6	For I am already being worn away, and the time of my dissolution presses close.
4:7	I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have preserved the faith.
4:8	As for the remainder, a crown of justice has been reserved for me, one which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to those who look forward to his return. Hurry to return to me soon.
4:16	At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them!
4:17	But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the preaching would be accomplished, and so that all the Gentiles would hear. And I was freed from the mouth of the lion.
4:18	The Lord has freed me from every evil work, and he will accomplish salvation by his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen

Sveti evangelij po Mateju 16: 13-19

16:13	Then Jesus went into parts of Caesarea Philippi. And he questioned his disciples, govoriti, “Who do men say that the Son of man is?”
16:14	In so rekli, “Some say John the Baptist, and others say Elijah, still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
16:15	Jezus jim je rekel, “But who do you say that I am?”
16:16	Simon Peter responded by saying, »Ti si Kristus, the Son of the living God.”
16:17	In v odgovor, Jezus mu je rekel: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. Kajti meso in kri ti tega nista razkrila, but my Father, ki je v nebesih.
16:18	In pravim ti, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19	And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound, even in heaven. And whatever you shall release on earth shall be released, even in heaven.”
