Second Letter to the Corinthians 1: 1- 7
1:1 Paul, apostol Jezusa Kristusa po božji volji, in Timotej, brat, v božjo cerkev, ki je v Korintu, z vsemi svetniki, ki so po vsej Ahaji:
1:2 Milost in mir vam od Boga, našega Očeta, in od Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.
1:3 Hvaljen Bog in Oče našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa, Oče usmiljenja in Bog vse tolažbe.
1:4 On nas tolaži v vseh naših stiskah, da bi tudi mi lahko tolažili tiste, ki so v kakršnikoli stiski, po spodbudi, s katero nas opominja tudi Bog.
1:5 Kajti tako kot je Kristusov pasijon v nas obilen, tako tudi, skozi Kristusa, ali je naša tolažba obilna.
1:6 torej, če smo v stiski, to je za vašo spodbudo in odrešenje, ali če smo v tolažbo, to je za vašo tolažbo, ali če smo opominjeni, to je za vašo spodbudo in odrešenje, kar ima za posledico potrpežljivost, vzdržljivost iste strasti, ki jo prenašamo tudi mi.
1:7 Naj se torej naše upanje zate utrdi, zavedajoč se tega, tako kot ste udeleženci v trpljenju, tako boste tudi vi udeleženci tolažbe.

| 5:7 | Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. |
| 5:8 | Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. |
| 5:9 | Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. |
| 5:10 | Blessed are those who endure persecution for the sake of justice, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. |
| 5:11 | Blessed are you when they have slandered you, and persecuted you, and spoken all kinds of evil against you, falsely, for my sake: |
| 5:12 | be glad and exult, for your reward in heaven is plentiful. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. |
