The Acts of the Apostles 1: 15-17, 20-26

1:15 V teh dneh, Peter, rising up in the midst of the brothers, rekel (now the crowd of men altogether was about one hundred and twenty):

1:21 Zato, it is necessary that, out of these men who have been assembling with us throughout the entire time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

1:22 beginning from the baptism of John, until the day when he was taken up from us, one of these be made a witness with us of his Resurrection.”

1:23 And they appointed two: Jožef, who was called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

1:24 And praying, they said: “May you, O Gospod, who knows the heart of everyone, reveal which one of these two you have chosen,

1:25 to take a place in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas prevaricated, so that he might go to his own place.”

1:26 And they cast lots concerning them, and the lot fell upon Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven Apostles.

The First Letter of Saint John 4: 11-16

4:11 Najbolj ljubljeni, če nas je Bog tako ljubil, tudi mi se moramo imeti radi.

4:12 Nihče ni nikoli videl Boga. Če pa se imamo radi, Bog prebiva v nas, in njegova ljubezen je v nas popolna.

4:13 V to smer, vemo, da ostanemo v njem, in on v nas: ker nam je dal od svojega Duha.

4:14 In videli smo, in mi pričamo, da je Oče poslal svojega Sina za Odrešenika sveta.

4:15 Kdor je priznal, da je Jezus Božji Sin, Bog prebiva v njem, in on v bogu.

4:16 In spoznali smo in verjeli ljubezen, ki jo ima Bog do nas. Bog je ljubezen. In tisti, ki ostaja v ljubezni, abides in Bog, in Bog v njem.

The Holy Gospel According to Saint John 17: 11-19

17:11 And though I am not in the world, these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Father most holy, preserve them in your name, those whom you have given to me, so that they may be one, even as we are one.

17:12 While I was with them, I preserved them in your name. I have guarded those whom you have given to me, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.

17:13 And now I am coming to you. But I am speaking these things in the world, so that they may have the fullness of my joy within themselves.

17:14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I, preveč, am not of the world.

17:15 I am not praying that you would take them out of the world, but that you would preserve them from evil.

17:16 They are not of the world, just as I also am not of the world.

17:17 Sanctify them in truth. Your word is truth.

17:18 Just as you have sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

17:19 And it is for them that I sanctify myself, so that they, preveč, may be sanctified in truth.
