The Book of Deutronomy 18: 15-20

18:15	The Lord your God will raise up for you a PROPHET from your nation and from your brothers, similar to me. You shall listen to him,
18:16	just as you petitioned of the Lord your God at Horeb, when the assembly was gathered together, and you said: ‘Let me no longer hear the voice of the Lord my God, and let me no longer see this very great fire, lest I die.’
18:17	And the Lord said to me: ‘They have spoken all these things well.
18:18	I will raise up a prophet for them, from the midst of their brothers, similar to you. And I will place my words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all the things that I will instruct him.
18:19	But against anyone who is not willing to listen to his words, which he will speak in my name, I will stand forth as the avenger.
18:20	But if a prophet, having been corrupted by arrogance, chooses to speak, f'ismi, things which I did not instruct him to say, or to speak in the name of foreign gods, he shall be put to death.

The First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 7: 32-35

7:32	But I would prefer you to be without worry. Whoever is without a wife is worried about the things of the Lord, as to how he may please God.
7:33	But whoever is with a wife is worried about the things of the world, as to how he may please his wife. U għalhekk, he is divided.
7:34	And the unmarried woman and the virgin think about the things that are of the Lord, so that she may be holy in body and in spirit. But she who is married thinks about the things that are of the world, as to how she may please her husband.
7:35	Barra minn hekk, I am saying this for your own benefit, not in order to cast a snare over you, but toward whatever is honest and whatever may provide you with the ability to be without hindrance, so as to worship the Lord.

1:21	U daħlu Kafarnahum. U jidħol fis-sinagoga fil-pront fis-Sibtijiet, għallimhom.
1:22	U baqgħu mistagħġbin bid-duttrina tiegħu. Għax kien jgħallimhom bħala wieħed li għandu awtorità, u mhux bħall-kittieba.
1:23	U fis-sinagoga tagħhom, kien hemm raġel bi spirtu mhux nadif; u għajjat,
1:24	qal: “X’aħna għalik, Ġesù ta’ Nazaret? Ġejt biex teqridna? Naf min int: il-Qaddis ta’ Alla.”
1:25	U Ġesù wissieh, qal, “Kun siekta, u tbiegħed mill-bniedem.”
1:26	U l-ispirtu mhux nadif, jgħaqqduh u jgħajtu b’leħen qawwi, telaq minnu.
1:27	U tant baqgħu mistagħġbin li staqsew bejniethom, qal: “Dan x’inhu? U x'inhi din id-duttrina l-ġdida? Għax b’awtorità jikkmanda anke lill-ispirti mhux nodfa, u huma jobduh.”
1:28	U l-fama tiegħu spiċċat malajr, madwar ir-reġjun kollu tal-Galilija.
