L-Ittra lill-Lhud 5: 7-9

5:7	Huwa Kristu li, fil-jiem ta’ ġismu, b’għajta qawwija u dmugħ, offra talb u suppliċi lil Dak li seta’ jeħles mill-mewt, u li nstema’ minħabba r-reverenza tiegħu.
5:8	U għalkemm, żgur, hu l-Iben ta’ Alla, tgħallem l-ubbidjenza mill-affarijiet li sofra.
5:9	U wara li laħaq il-konsum tiegħu, kien magħmul, għal dawk kollha li huma ubbidjenti lilu, il-kawża tas-salvazzjoni eterna,

L-Evanġelju Qaddis Skont Luqa 2: 33-35

2:33	And his father and mother were wondering over these things, which were spoken about him.
2:34	And Simeon blessed them, and he said to his mother Mary: “Ara, this one has been set for the ruin and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and as a sign which will be contradicted.
2:35	And a sword will pass through your own soul, so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
