Ephesians 1: 1-10

1:1 Pawlu, an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to all the saints who are at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.

1:2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1:3 Imbierek Alla u Missier Sidna Ġesù Kristu, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, fi Kristu,

1:4 just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his sight, in charity.

1:5 He has predestined us to adoption as sons, permezz ta’ Ġesù Kristu, in himself, according to the purpose of his will,

1:6 for the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.

1:7 Fih, we have redemption through his blood: the remission of sins in accord with the riches of his grace,

1:8 which is superabundant in us, with all wisdom and prudence.

1:9 So does he make known to us the mystery of his will, which he has set forth in Christ, in a manner well-pleasing to him,

1:10 in the dispensation of the fullness of time, so as to renew in Christ everything that exists through him in heaven and on earth.

Luqa 1: 47-54

11:47	Woe għalik, li jibnu l-oqbra tal-profeti, filwaqt li huma missirijietkom li qatluhom!
11:48	B'mod ċar, qed tixhed li taqbel mal-azzjonijiet ta missirijietkom, għax minkejja li qatluhom, inti tibni l-sepulkri tagħhom.
11:49	Minħabba dan ukoll, qal l-għerf ta’ Alla: Nibgħatilhom Profeti u Appostli, u xi wħud minn dawn joqtlu jew jippersegwitaw,
11:50	sabiex id-demm tal-Profeti kollha, li ilha tintefa sa mill-fondazzjoni tad-dinja, jistgħu jiġu akkużati kontra din il-ġenerazzjoni:
11:51	mid-demm ta’ Abel, sad-demm ta’ Żakkarija, li miet bejn l-artal u s-santwarju. Allura ngħid lilek: se jkun meħtieġ minn din il-ġenerazzjoni!
11:52	Woe għalik, esperti fil-liġi! Għax int neħħejt iċ-ċavetta tal-għarfien. Intom infuskom ma tidħlux, u dawk li kienu jidħlu, kont tipprojbixxi.”
11:53	Imbagħad, waqt li kien qed jgħidilhom dawn l-affarijiet, il-Fariżej u l-esperti fil-liġi bdew jinsistu bil-qawwa li jrażżan fommu fuq ħafna affarijiet.
11:54	U stennija biex imbuskat lilu, huma fittxew xi ħaġa minn fommu li jistgħu jaħtfu fuqha, sabiex jakkużawh.
