Lettura

Corinzi 1: 1-9

1:1 Paolo, chiamato come apostolo di Gesù Cristo per volontà di Dio; e Sostene, un fratello:

1:2 alla Chiesa di Dio che è in Corinto, ai santificati in Cristo Gesù, chiamati ad essere santi con quanti in ogni luogo loro e nostro invocano il nome di nostro Signore Gesù Cristo.

1:3 Grazia e pace a voi da Dio nostro Padre e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.

1:4 Rendo continuamente grazie al mio Dio per voi a motivo della grazia di Dio che vi è stata data in Cristo Gesù.

1:5 Per quella grazia, in tutte le cose, sei diventato ricco in lui, in ogni parola e in ogni conoscenza.

1:6 E così, la testimonianza di Cristo si è rafforzata in voi.

1:7 In questo modo, nulla ti manca in alcuna grazia, mentre aspetti la rivelazione di nostro Signore Gesù Cristo.

1:8 E lui, pure, ti rafforzerà, anche fino alla fine, senza sensi di colpa, fino al giorno dell'avvento di nostro Signore Gesù Cristo.

1:9 Dio è fedele. Attraverso di lui, sei stato chiamato alla comunione di suo Figlio, Gesù Cristo nostro Signore.

The Holy Gospel According to Matthew 24: 42-51

24:42	Perciò, be vigilant. For you do not know at what hour your Lord will return.
24:43	But know this: if only the father of the family knew at what hour the thief would arrive, he would certainly keep vigil and not permit his house to be broken into.
24:44	Per questa ragione, you also must be prepared, for you do not know at what hour the Son of man will return.
24:45	Consider this: who is a faithful and prudent servant, who has been appointed by his lord over his family, to give them their portion in due time?
24:46	Blessed is that servant, Se, when his lord has arrived, he shall find him doing so.
24:47	Amen I say to you, he shall appoint him over all of his goods.
24:48	But if that evil servant has said in his heart, ‘My lord has been delayed in returning,'
24:49	e così, he begins to strike his fellow servants, and he eats and drinks with the inebriated:
24:50	then the lord of that servant will arrive on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know.
24:51	And he shall separate him, and he shall place his portion with the hypocrites, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
