En lisant

Deutéronome 8: 2-3, 14-16

8:2 And you shall remember the entire journey along which the Lord your God led you, for forty years through the desert, to afflict you, and to test you, and to make known the things that were turning in your soul, whether or not you would keep his commandments.

8:3 He afflicted you with need, and he gave you Manna as your food, which neither you nor your fathers knew, so as to reveal to you that it is not by bread alone that man lives, but by every word that goes forth from the mouth of God.

8:14 your heart might be lifted up, and you might not remember the Lord your God, qui t'a fait sortir du pays d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude,

8:15 and who was your leader in the great and terrible wilderness, in which there was the serpent with a burning breath, and the scorpion, and the snake of thirst, and no waters at all. He led streams out of the hardest rock,

8:16 and he nourished you in the wilderness with Manna, which your fathers had not known. And after he had afflicted and tested you, in the very end, he took pity on you.

Deuxième lecture

First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 10: 16-17

10:16 La coupe de bénédiction que nous bénissons, n'est-ce pas une communion au Sang du Christ? Et le pain que nous rompons, n'est-ce pas une participation au Corps du Seigneur?

10:17 A travers le seul pain, nous, bien que beaucoup, sont un seul corps: nous tous qui participons au même pain.

Gospel

Le Saint Evangile selon Jean 6: 51-58

6:51	je suis le pain vivant, qui est descendu du ciel.
6:52	Si quelqu'un mange de ce pain, il vivra dans l'éternité. Et le pain que je donnerai est ma chair, pour la vie du monde.
6:53	Donc, les juifs débattaient entre eux, en disant, « Comment cet homme peut-il nous donner sa chair à manger?”
6:54	Et ainsi, Jésus leur dit: "Amen, amen, je te dis, à moins que vous ne mangiez la chair du Fils de l'homme et ne buviez son sang, tu n'auras pas de vie en toi.
6:55	Celui qui mange ma chair et boit mon sang a la vie éternelle, et je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.
6:56	Car ma chair est une vraie nourriture, et mon sang est une vraie boisson.
6:57	Celui qui mange ma chair et boit mon sang demeure en moi, et moi en lui.
6:58	Tout comme le Père vivant m'a envoyé et je vis à cause du Père, ainsi aussi celui qui me mange, le même vivra à cause de moi.
