The Book of the the Prophet Jeremiah 2: 1-3, 7-8, 12-13

2:1	Ary tonga tamiko ny tenin'i Jehovah, ka nanao hoe::
2:2	“Mandehana, and cry out to the ears of Jerusalem, ka nanao hoe:: Izao no lazain'ny Tompo: I have remembered you, taking pity on your youth and on the charity of your betrothal, when you followed me into the desert, into a land which is not sown.
2:3	Israel is holy to the Lord, the first of his fruits. All those who devour him commit an offense. Evils will overwhelm them, hoy ny Tompo.
2:7	And I led you into the land of Carmel, so that you would eat from its fruit and from its excellence. And having entered it, you defiled my land, and you turned my inheritance into an abomination.
2:8	The priests have not said: ‘Where is the Lord?’ And those who held the law did not know me. And the pastors betrayed me. And the prophets prophesied in Baal and followed idols.
2:10	Cross over to the isles of Kittim, and gaze. And send to Kedar, and consider diligently. And see if anything like this has ever been done.
2:12	Be astonished at this, Ry lanitra ô, and be utterly desolate, O gates of heaven, hoy ny Tompo.
2:13	For my people have done two evils. They have forsaken me, the Fountain of living water, and they have dug for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that are unable to hold water.

13:10	Ary ny mpianany nanatona Azy ka nanao hoe, Nahoana no fanoharana no itenenanao aminy??”
13:11	MAMALY, hoy izy taminy: “Satria ianareo efa nomena hahalala ny zava-miafina ny amin’ny fanjakan’ny lanitra, nefa tsy nomena azy izany.
13:12	Ho an'izay manana, homena azy izany, ary hanana be izy. Fa izay tsy manana, na dia izay ananany aza dia halaina aminy.
13:13	Izany no antony, fanoharana no itenenako aminy: satria mahita, tsy mahita izy ireo, ary mandre izy dia tsy mandre, sady tsy mahazo.
13:14	Ary noho izany, amin’ireo no tanteraka ny faminanian’i Isaia, iza no niteny, ‘Mandre, hohenoinao, fa tsy azo; ary mahita, ho hitanao, fa tsy mahita.
13:15	Fa efa matavy ny fon'ity firenena ity;, ary ny sofiny dia mandre fatratra, ary efa nakimpiny ny masony, fandrao hahita ny masony izy, ary mihaino ny sofiny, ary mahafantatra amin'ny fony, ary hiova fo, dia hositraniko izy ireo.’
13:16	Fa sambatra ny masonao, satria mahita izy ireo, ary ny sofinao, satria mandre izy.
13:17	Amena hoy aho aminareo, Azo antoka, fa maro ny mpaminany sy ny marina naniry hahita izay hitanao, nefa tsy hitany, ary mba handre izay renareo, nefa tsy nandre izany izy.
