Die Heilige Evangelie volgens Johannes 1: 35-42

1:35 The next day again, John was standing with two of his disciples.
1:36 And catching sight of Jesus walking, hy het gesê, “Kyk, the Lamb of God.”
1:37 And two disciples were listening to him speaking. And they followed Jesus.
1:38 Toe Jesus, turning around and seeing them following him, vir hulle gesê, “What are you seeking?” En hulle het vir hom gesê, “Rabbi (which means in translation, Onderwyser), where do you live?”
1:39 Hy het vir hulle gesê, “Come and see.” They went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about the tenth hour.
1:40 And Andrew, die broer van Simon Petrus, was one of the two who had heard about him from John and had followed him.
1:41 Eerstens, he found his brother Simon, en hy het vir hom gesê, “We have found the Messiah,” (which is translated as the Christ).
1:42 And he led him to Jesus. En Jesus, na hom kyk, gesê: “You are Simon, son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas,” (which is translated as Peter).
