4:1	“En nou, Israel, luister na die voorskrifte en verordeninge wat Ek julle leer, sodat, deur dit te doen, jy mag lewe, en julle mag ingaan en die land in besit neem, wat die Here, die God van julle vaders, vir jou sal gee.

4:5	You know that I have taught you precepts as well as justices, just as the Lord my God has commanded me. And so shall you do in the land that you will possess.
4:6	En jy moet dit in die praktyk waarneem en vervul. Want dit is julle wysheid en insig voor die oë van die volke, sodat, by die aanhoor van al hierdie voorskrifte, hulle mag sê: ‘Kyk, 'n wyse en verstandige volk, ’n groot nasie.’
4:7	Daar is ook geen ander nasie so groot nie, wat sy gode so naby aan hulle het, soos ons God teenwoordig is by al ons smekinge.
4:8	Vir watter ander nasie is daar so bekend om seremonies te hê, en net oordele, en die hele wet wat ek vandag voor julle oë sal uitlê?
4:9	En so, guard yourself and your soul carefully. You should not forget the words that your eyes have seen, and do not let them be cut away from your heart, throughout all the days of your life. You shall teach them to your sons and to your grandsons,

5:17	Do not think that I have come to loosen the law or the prophets. I have not come to loosen, but to fulfill.
5:18	Amen sê ek vir jou, beslis, until heaven and earth pass away, not one iota, not one dot shall pass away from the law, until all is done.
5:19	Daarom, whoever will have loosened one of the least of these commandments, and have taught men so, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever will have done and taught these, such a one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
