En lisant

Le livre du prophète Isaïe 3: 1-4, 4: 5- 6

3:1	Voir, I send my angel, and he will prepare the way before my face. And presently the Sovereign, whom you seek, and the angel of testimony, whom you desire, will arrive at his temple. Voir, he approaches, says the Lord of hosts.
3:2	And who will be able to consider the day of his advent, and who will stand firm in order to see him? For he is like a refining fire, and like the fuller’s herb.
3:3	And he will sit refining and cleansing the silver, and he will purge the sons of Levi, and he will gather them like gold and like silver, and they will offer sacrifices to the Lord in justice.
3:4	And the sacrifice of Judah and of Jerusalem will please the Lord, just as in the days of past generations, and as in the ancient years.

4:5	Voir, I will send to you Elijah the prophet, before the arrival of the great and terrible day of the Lord.
4:6	And he will turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with anathema.

The Holy Gospel According to Luke 1: 57-66

1:57	Maintenant, le temps pour Elizabeth d'accoucher est arrivé, et elle enfanta un fils.
1:58	Et ses voisins et parents apprirent que le Seigneur avait magnifié sa miséricorde envers elle, et ainsi ils l'ont félicitée.
1:59	Et il est arrivé que, le huitième jour, ils sont arrivés pour circoncire le garçon, et ils l'appelèrent par le nom de son père, Zacharie.
1:60	Et en réponse, sa mère a dit: "Pas si. Plutôt, il s'appellera Jean.
1:61	Et ils lui dirent, "Mais il n'y a personne parmi vos parents qui soit appelé par ce nom."
1:62	Puis ils firent signe à son père, quant à comment il voulait qu'il s'appelle.
1:63	Et demander une tablette d'écriture, il a écrit, en disant: "Il s'appelle John." Et ils se sont tous demandés.
1:64	Alors, immediatement, sa bouche était ouverte, et sa langue s'est déliée, et il a parlé, bénir Dieu.
1:65	Et la peur est tombée sur tous leurs voisins. Et toutes ces paroles ont été portées à la connaissance de toute la région montagneuse de Judée.
1:66	Et tous ceux qui l'ont entendu l'ont stocké dans leur cœur, en disant: "Que pensez-vous que ce garçon sera?" Et en effet, la main du Seigneur était avec lui.
