First Reading

The Book of Numbers 21: 4-9

21:4	Tada jie iškeliavo nuo Horo kalno, beje, kuris veda prie Raudonosios jūros, apeiti Edomo žemę. Ir žmonės pradėjo pavargti nuo savo kelionės ir sunkumų.
21:5	Ir kalbėdamas prieš Dievą ir Mozę, jie sakė: „Kodėl išvedei mus iš Egipto?, kad mirtų dykumoje? Trūksta duonos; vandenų nėra. Mūsų sielą dabar pykina šis labai lengvas maistas.
21:6	Dėl šios priežasties, Viešpats siuntė ugnines gyvates tarp žmonių, kuris daugelį jų sužeidė ar nužudė.
21:7	Ir taip jie nuėjo pas Mozę, ir jie pasakė: „Mes nusidėjome, nes mes kalbėjome prieš Viešpatį ir prieš tave. Melskis, kad jis atimtų iš mūsų šias gyvates“. Ir Mozė meldėsi už žmones.
21:8	Ir Viešpats jam pasakė: „Padaryk bronzinę gyvatę, ir padėkite jį kaip ženklą. Kad ir kas, buvęs smogtas, žiūri į jį, gyvens“.
21:9	Todėl, Mozė padarė varinę gyvatę, ir jis padėjo tai kaip ženklą. Kai tie, kurie buvo smogti, žiūrėjo į tai, jie buvo išgydyti.

Second Reading

The Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians 2: 6-11

2:6	PSO, though he was in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be seized.
2:7	Vietoj to, he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and accepting the state of a man.
2:8	He humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, even the death of the Cross.
2:9	Dėl to, God has also exalted him and has given him a name which is above every name,
2:10	taip kad, at the name of Jesus, every knee would bend, of those in heaven, of those on earth, and of those in hell,
2:11	and so that every tongue would confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.

Gospel

The Holy Gospel According to John 3: 13-17

3:13	And no one has ascended to heaven, except the one who descended from heaven: the Son of man who is in heaven.
3:14	And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so also must the Son of man be lifted up,
3:15	so that whoever believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.
3:16	For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that all who believe in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.
3:17	For God did not send his Son into the world, in order to judge the world, but in order that the world may be saved through him.
