| 21:1 |
And looking around, he saw the wealthy putting their donations into the offertory. |
| 21:2 |
Then he also saw a certain widow, a pauper, putting in two small brass coins. |
| 21:3 |
והוא אמר: "בֶּאֱמֶת, אני אומר לך, that this poor widow has put in more than all the others. |
| 21:4 |
For all these, out of their abundance, have added to the gifts for God. But she, out of what she needed, has put in all that she had to live on.” |
| 21:5 |
And when some of them were saying, about the temple, that it was adorned with excellent stones and gifts, הוא אמר, |
| 21:6 |
“These things that you see, the days will arrive when there will not be left behind stone upon stone, which is not thrown down.” |
| 21:7 |
Then they questioned him, פִּתגָם: "מוֹרֶה, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when these things will happen?” |
| 21:8 |
והוא אמר: “Be cautious, lest you be seduced. For many will come in my name, פִּתגָם: ‘For I am he,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ And so, do not choose to go after them. |
| 21:9 |
And when you will have heard of battles and seditions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first. But the end is not so soon.” |
| 21:10 |
Then he said to them: “People will rise up against people, and kingdom against kingdom. |
| 21:11 |
And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there will be great signs. |
| 21:12 |
But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, handing you over to synagogues and into custody, dragging you before kings and governors, because of my name. |
| 21:13 |
And this will be an opportunity for you to give testimony. |
| 21:14 |
לָכֵן, set this in your hearts: that you should not consider in advance how you might respond. |
| 21:15 |
For I will give to you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries will not be able to resist or contradict. |
| 21:16 |
And you will be handed over by your parents, and brothers, and relatives, and friends. And they will bring about the death of some of you. |
| 21:17 |
And you will be hated by all because of my name. |
| 21:18 |
And yet, not a hair of your head will perish. |
| 21:19 |
By your patience, you shall possess your souls. |
| 21:20 |
לאחר מכן, כאשר תראה את ירושלים מוקפת בצבא, דעו אז כי שממתו התקרבה. |

אז יברחו אלה שנמצאים ביהודה אל ההרים, ואלה שנמצאים בתוכו נסוגים, ומי שנמצא בכפר לא נכנס לזה. |

כי אלו ימי הגמול, כדי שהכל יתקיים, אשר נכתבו. |

אז אוי לאלו בהריון או מיניקות באותם ימים. כִּי יִהְיֶה צָרָה גְדוֹלָה עַל הָאָרֶץ וְזַעַם גָּדוֹל עַל הָעָם הַזֶּה. |

והם יפלו על קצה החרב. והם יובלו כשבויים לכל העמים. וירושלים תירמס על ידי הגויים, עד שיתקיימו זמני האומות. |
| 21:25 |
ויהיו סימנים בשמש ובירח ובכוכבים. ויהיו, על פני כדור הארץ, מצוקה בקרב הגויים, מתוך בלבול בשאגת הים והגלים: |

גברים שנובלים מפחד ומתוך חשש מהדברים שיציפו את העולם כולו. כי כוחות השמים יזוזו. |
| 21:27 |
ואז הם יראו את בן האדם בא על ענן, בעוצמה ובמלכות רבה. |
| 21:28 |
אבל כשהדברים האלה מתחילים לקרות, להרים את הראש ולהסתכל סביבך, כי גאולתך מתקרבת". |

והוא אמר להם השוואה: "שימו לב לעץ התאנה ולכל העצים. |
| 21:30 |
כאשר כרגע הם מפיקים פירות מעצמם, אתה יודע שהקיץ קרוב. |

אז גם אתה, מתי תראה את הדברים האלה קורים, דע כי מלכות אלוהים קרובה. |

שמים וארץ יחלפו. אבל דברי לא יעברו. |

אבל היו קשובים לעצמכם, שמא ייפגע לבכם מהפינוק העצמי וההשתכרות והדאגות של החיים האלה. ואז היום הזה עלול להציף אותך פתאום. |

כי כמו מלכודת היא תכריע את כל היושבים על פני כל הארץ. |

וכך, לִפְקוֹחַ, מתפללים בכל עת, כדי שתהיה ראוי להימלט מכל הדברים האלה, אשר נמצאים בעתיד, ולעמוד לפני בן האדם". |
