First Reading

 

מעשי השליחים 10: 25-26, 34-35, 44-48

10:25 וזה קרה, when Peter had entered, Cornelius went to meet him. And falling before his feet, he reverenced.

10:26 ובכל זאת באמת, פיטר, lifting him up, אמר: "התקומם, for I also am only a man.”

10:34 לאחר מכן, פיטר, פותח את פיו, אמר: "הגעתי למסקנה באמת שאלוהים אינו מכבד אנשים.

10:35 אבל בתוך כל עם, מי שירא ממנו ועושה צדק מקובל עליו.

10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell over all of those who were listening to the Word.

10:45 And the faithful of the circumcision, who had arrived with Peter, were astonished that the grace of the Holy Spirit was also poured out upon the Gentiles.

10:46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and magnifying God.

10:47 Then Peter responded, “How could anyone prohibit water, so that those who have received the Holy Spirit would not be baptized, just as we also have been?”

10:48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then they begged him to remain with them for some days.

 

קריאה שניה

המכתב הראשון של יוחנן הקדוש 4: 7-10

4:7 האהוב ביותר, תן לנו לאהוב אחד את השני. כי האהבה היא מאלוהים. וכל האוהב נולד מאלוהים ויודע את אלוהים.

4:8 מי שלא אוהב, לא מכיר את אלוהים. כי אלוהים הוא אהבה.

4:9 אהבת ה' התגלתה לנו בדרך זו: שאלוהים שלח את בנו יחידו לעולם, כדי שנוכל לחיות דרכו.

4:10 בזה יש אהבה: לא כאילו אהבנו את אלוהים, אלא שהוא אהב אותנו קודם, ולכן הוא שלח את בנו ככפרה על חטאינו.

The Holy Gospel According to John 15: 9-17

15:9 As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Abide in my love.

15:10 If you keep my precepts, you shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept my Father’s precepts and I abide in his love.

15:11 הדברים האלה דיברתי אליך, so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be fulfilled.

15:12 This is my precept: that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

15:13 No one has a greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.

15:14 You are my friends, if you do what I instruct you.

15:15 I will no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Lord is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything whatsoever that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you.

15:17 This I command you: that you love one another.
