The Book of the the Prophet Jeremiah 2: 1-3, 7-8, 12-13

2:1	და უფლის სიტყვა მომივიდა, ამბობდა:
2:2	„წადი, and cry out to the ears of Jerusalem, ამბობდა: ასე ამბობს უფალი: I have remembered you, taking pity on your youth and on the charity of your betrothal, when you followed me into the desert, into a land which is not sown.
2:3	Israel is holy to the Lord, the first of his fruits. All those who devour him commit an offense. Evils will overwhelm them, ამბობს უფალი“.
2:7	And I led you into the land of Carmel, so that you would eat from its fruit and from its excellence. And having entered it, you defiled my land, and you turned my inheritance into an abomination.
2:8	The priests have not said: ‘Where is the Lord?’ And those who held the law did not know me. And the pastors betrayed me. And the prophets prophesied in Baal and followed idols.
2:10	Cross over to the isles of Kittim, and gaze. And send to Kedar, and consider diligently. And see if anything like this has ever been done.
2:12	Be astonished at this, ო ცა, and be utterly desolate, O gates of heaven, ამბობს უფალი.
2:13	For my people have done two evils. They have forsaken me, the Fountain of living water, and they have dug for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that are unable to hold water.

წმინდა სახარება მათეს მიხედვით 13: 10-17

13:10	და მიუახლოვდნენ მას მოწაფეები და უთხრეს, „რატომ ელაპარაკები მათ იგავებით??”
13:11	Პასუხობს, უთხრა მათ: „რადგან მოგეცათ იცოდეთ ცათა სასუფევლის საიდუმლოებები, მაგრამ ეს მათ არ მიეცათ.
13:12	ვისაც აქვს, მას მიეცემა, და მას უხვად ექნება. მაგრამ ვისაც არა აქვს, რაც კი აქვს, წაართმევენ მას.
13:13	Ამ მიზეზით, მე მათ იგავებით ველაპარაკები: რადგან ხედავს, ისინი არ ხედავენ, და მოსმენა მათ არ ესმით, არც ესმით.
13:14	Ამიტომაც, მათში სრულდება ესაიას წინასწარმეტყველება, ვინ თქვა, 'სმენა, თქვენ გაიგებთ, მაგრამ არ ესმის; და ხედავს, თქვენ ნახავთ, მაგრამ არ აღიქვამს.
13:15	რადგან ამ ხალხის გული გამსუქდა, და ყურით მძიმედ ესმით, და მათ თვალები დახუჭეს, რომ არ დაინახონ თავიანთი თვალებით, და ისმენენ მათი ყურებით, და გულით ესმით, და გარდაიქმნება, და მერე განვკურნავდი მათ“.
13:16	მაგრამ ნეტარ არიან შენი თვალები, რადგან ხედავენ, და შენი ყურები, რადგან ისმენენ.
13:17	ამინ გეუბნები, რა თქმა უნდა, რომ ბევრ წინასწარმეტყველს და მხოლოდ სურდა დაენახა ის, რასაც ხედავ, და მაინც ვერ დაინახეს, და იმის მოსმენა, რასაც გესმით, და მაინც არ გაუგიათ.
