Reading

The Book of the the Prophet Jeremiah 2: 1-3, 7-8, 12-13

2:1	And the word of the Lord came to me, говорећи:
2:2	„Иди, and cry out to the ears of Jerusalem, говорећи: Тако говори Господ: I have remembered you, taking pity on your youth and on the charity of your betrothal, when you followed me into the desert, into a land which is not sown.
2:3	Israel is holy to the Lord, the first of his fruits. All those who devour him commit an offense. Evils will overwhelm them, says the Lord.”
2:7	And I led you into the land of Carmel, so that you would eat from its fruit and from its excellence. And having entered it, you defiled my land, and you turned my inheritance into an abomination.
2:8	The priests have not said: ‘Where is the Lord?’ And those who held the law did not know me. And the pastors betrayed me. And the prophets prophesied in Baal and followed idols.
2:10	Cross over to the isles of Kittim, and gaze. And send to Kedar, and consider diligently. And see if anything like this has ever been done.
2:12	Be astonished at this, О небеса, and be utterly desolate, O gates of heaven, говори Господ.
2:13	For my people have done two evils. They have forsaken me, the Fountain of living water, and they have dug for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that are unable to hold water.

The Holy Gospel According to Matthew 13: 10-17

13:10	А ученици његови приступише к њему и рекоше, „Зашто им говорите у параболама?”
13:11	Одговарање, рече им: „Јер вам је дато да знате тајне царства небеског, али им није дато.
13:12	За ко год има, даће му се, и имаће у изобиљу. Али ко није, и оно што има биће му одузето.
13:13	Из тог разлога, Говорим им у параболама: јер видећи, не виде, а слух не чују, нити разумеју.
13:14	И тако, у њима се испуњава пророчанство Исаије, који је рекао, 'Слух, чућете, али не разуме; и гледање, видећеш, али не опажа.
13:15	Јер се срце овог народа удебљало, а ушима тешко чују, и затворили су очи, да не би у било које време видели својим очима, и чују својим ушима, и разумију срцем, и бити преобраћени, а онда бих их излечио.’
13:16	Али благословене су очи твоје, јер виде, и твоје уши, јер чују.
13:17	Амин вам кажем, сигурно, да су многи од пророка и праведника желели да виде оно што ви видите, а ипак то нису видели, и да чујеш оно што чујеш, а ипак то нису чули.
