First Reading

The Book of the Prophet Jonah 3: 1-10

3:4	Jeung Yunus mimiti asup ka kota lalampahan hiji poé. Sarta anjeunna ngajerit sarta ngomong, "Opat puluh dinten deui sareng Ninewe bakal ditumpes."
3:5	Jeung lalaki Ninewe percaya ka Allah. Jeung maranéhna memproklamirkan puasa, jeung maranehna make sackcloth, ti nu pangageungna nepi ka nu pangleutikna.
3:6	Jeung kecap nepi ka raja Ninewe. Sarta anjeunna bangkit tina tahta-Na, sarta anjeunna maledog off jubah-Na tina dirina jeung ieu dipakena dina sackcloth, sarta manéhna diuk dina lebu.
3:7	Sarta anjeunna ngajerit jeung spoke: “Di Ninewe, tina sungut raja jeung para pangéranna, hayu diomongkeun: Lalaki jeung sato galak jeung sapi jeung domba bisa jadi teu ngarasakeun nanaon. Sanes kedah tuang atanapi nginum cai.
3:8	Jeung hayu lalaki jeung beasts ditutupan ku sackcloth, jeung hayu aranjeunna ceurik kaluar ka Gusti kalawan kakuatan, jeung bisa jadi manusa dirobah tina jalan jahat-Na, jeung tina iniquity nu aya dina leungeun maranéhna.
3:9	Saha anu terang upami Gusti tiasa malik sareng ngahampura, sarta bisa ngahurungkeun jauh ti murka-Na, supaya urang teu binasa?”
3:10	Jeung Allah nempo karya maranéhanana, yén maranéhna geus dirobah tina jalan jahat maranéhanana. Jeung Allah karunya ka maranehna, ngeunaan cilaka anu anjeunna nyarios bakal dilakukeun ka aranjeunna, sarta anjeunna henteu ngalakukeun eta.

 

Second Reading

The First Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 7: 29-31

7:29	Teras kumaha, this is what I say, baraya: The time is short. What remains of it is such that: those who have wives should be as if they had none;
7:30	and those who weep, as though they were not weeping; and those who rejoice, as if they were not rejoicing; and those who buy, as if they possessed nothing;
7:31	and those who use the things of this world, as if they were not using them. For the figure of this world is passing away.

 

Injil

The Holy Gospel According to Mark 1: 14-20

1:14	Saterusna, after John was handed over, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,
1:15	jeung nyebutkeun: “For the time has been fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Repent and believe in the Gospel.”
1:16	And passing by the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew, casting nets into the sea, for they were fishermen.
1:17	And Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
1:18	And at once abandoning their nets, aranjeunna nuturkeun anjeunna.
1:19	And continuing on a little ways from there, he saw James of Zebedee and his brother John, and they were mending their nets in a boat.
1:20	And immediately he called them. And leaving behind their father Zebedee in the boat with his hired hands, aranjeunna nuturkeun anjeunna.
